Great news!!! COPR came in Oct. 20th!!!!
My husband's PR was approved on Sept. 30th ;D
The letter was sent out from the Paris office to our Immigration Lawyer in Canada on the Oct. 11th and was received by him on Oct. 20th.
Our application was received on March 29th, 2016.

Now to pack and tie up loose ends to leave Spain to start our next chapter in Canada!!
We hope to be in there to celebrate Christmas with my family this year!! ;D

Looks like Paris office applications are moving along!!

If the spouse does not need a visa to enter Canada, will his passport be requested or will he get his COPR by post?

Thanks dican If his country is visa exempt then no, they won't request his passport. They will send COPR confirmation to the specified mailing address.

do u think at this stage that I almost reached 8 mos in process
there still a possiblity that my application will be denied

Which Visa office did your app go to? Mine is Mexico City March 15th, I say we just have to be patient! Especially if we didn't go over the estimated time for an app to be processed. Last time I checked Mexico can take up to 16 mths...

hello. mine is in Philippines which has 13months processing time. Im just so nervous because
our embassy started releasing visa to applicants from April to July which is very unfair
Ive been left far behind they started requesting for passport for August applicants just yesterday

I understand but you're not the only one. I'm guessing it depends on the officer working on our apps and many other factors. For e.g I read on a facebook group (Dominicano Spouses) that one learned her app took 17 months because the background check was very long as her husband had a very common last name. Maybe if you order the GCMS notes it will help you know what is going on.

yeah everytime i request for police certificate i always get hit bcoz
theres 4 other people in my country that has the same name as me
so maybe thats why. My gcms notes arrived last week it shows
my application needs review and is being sent to cic mississauga
I hope it takes this long bcoz of my background check not my bcoz
they have doubt in our relationship thank you so much anyway uve been a big help

You welcome Maybe if you do a CSE explaining word for word what you just said writing that you know there are 4 other people with same last name everytime you request for PC. I don't think you writing to them could slow down the process seeing there are people from August who already have PPR, because you're right it is unfair. There should be a rule that earlier applications should be finished first and not the other way around. Ridiculous.

Congrats! Wished the same happened for me, flying over to DR on November 9th.

For my situation, it was one or 2 days, then I got email confirmation.

Checked my ecas a few moments ago and it changed to Decision Made for sponsor side.

Thought ECAS would take forever to update (or maybe it actually did take forever).

At this point, any update makes the wait a bit more exciting.

2017 is around the corner hoping for more updates for us all! We're getting closer!
