I mailed mine on January 18th of this year, and received it on April 26th(dated April 18th) so it took 4 months for me with adequate fingerprints and no criminal history. I also sent a cashiers check instead of my credit card information and think that may have helped with processing times. The "official" waiting time they give you is around 16-18 weeks and climbing. If you need one and haven't sent a request for it yet, you should get to it ASAP.
Thanks' a lot for your time :)

Today I logged in to ECAS and noticed my wife (PR applicant) had this status added:

We started processing <NAME> application on April 25, 2016.

I received AOR on April 2nd, but according to ECAS my SA is still "In Process".

Is it normal for the PR application to be in process before SA decision has been made? ???

No. Although it does seem to be normal for SA decisions to not be communicated in a timely manner, and sometimes not at all. (I was lucky, and got a PDF by E-Mail.) Good luck! :)

I have my official SA from April 21 and ECAS still shows that side of the application as "In Process" so I'm not sure that they update it every time. You could already have SA but just not received notification.

Same for me. We got email with PDF saying that my sponsor met the requirements and they forwarded my file to Paris VO, but CIC still shows in process for my sponsor. I guess the update system is not really efficient.
Maybe from May26th, the new tracking system will be more accurate.

Update!

ECAS: PR Applicant status changed from 'Application Received' to 'In process' However No additional line added inside. The sponsor side still shows 'In process'

Have a good day!

Anyone else on here living in Canada while applying outland?

I'm wondering about going to the US to visit family for Mothers Day. I currently have a visitors visa valid until July 2017, but it does not guarantee re-entry.. Does that mean that if I DO successfully cross back into Canada, I am still eligible to stay as a visitor until that date? Or would I be basically throwing it away in return for the standard 6 month visa at the border? And is 6 months probably enough at this point for my PR to come through the Ottawa office? Any insight would be much appreciated.

So.. Looks like when the agent said your file is in transit, it was to India. You're already approved for SA I believe.

Congrats!

It all depends on the officer at the border. I am in Canada, applying for outland, I returned from a trip overseas in March - I knew that leaving the country meant there was always a risk returning could go either way. He gave me another six months. I did have my two young 'Canadian citizen' toddlers in my arms and they were being noisy! He probably wanted me out of there!

If I haven't received my PR in time, I will apply for a visitor extension as I have done in the past.

Just got off the phone with CIC and still no SA, no update.

This is frustrating.

I was able to access after 10-11 days after receiving AOR1 and SA, so wait for 10 days or so and try again

I sent my application on March 16. No e-mail from CIC so I don't think I have AOR1. I can't login either with the UCI# they gave me.
Thinking I should call them on Monday if nothing new happens.
