oh, and *technically* CIC received my app in April, since I missed a formed and my application wasn't considered "complete" until they received it.
Yes you're right: it was a completely mess rofl
Well your case give me lots of hope since the first day I've met this forum!

I didn't supply any cover letters either; my spouse and I have been living together in Canada since 2011. We supplied notarized letters from my sponsor's sister and mother. This along with all the other evidence we provided are I'm expecting to be more than enough proof.

We thought about writing cover letters, but I used the fields in the applicant questionnaire to fully explain the details of our relationship. That, and we've been filing taxes common-law in Canada for the past few years and are still living together, insurance policies, shared credit cards, joint bank accounts, I feel is probably more than enough proof.

Hoping it's not a big deal we didn't send cover letters.

I'm well aware of the wait times and how back logged the gov is. We've waited just like everyone else. I just wanted an answer to my question. So thanks.

Thank you to the 2 people that actually answered my question. I appreciate your input. To everyone else...we applied the same way you did. We've waited the allotted processing times as well. I'm no stranger to patience.

Since you have decision made on your application and haven't seen anything for 65 days, I would definitely call the call centre.

I called my MP, who got back to me within 24 hours. The visa has been ready since Feb!! So he's looking into why we haven't received any communication off the embassy. When in doubt contact your MP!!

I have heard that many people called their MP to check on CIC.

Do they (MP) charge for such 'service'? Should the sponsor contact the MP or can the applicant (obviously not a PR/ Canadian citizen) contact the MP too?

Thanks.

MP is your member of parliament who serves your electoral district. They are government officials who citizens elect and are paid with taxpayer dollars. (They are paid for their service, but through you paying taxes only, no fees are charged for something like this)

Sending my application on Friday, March 20 - I was waiting for my Option C printout, I got it yesterday. The waiting game begins.

Feel free to add your info on spreadsheet :D

Do they asked for updated GEN-008 form even if the signature date is feb 1st ? although i have sent the file on feb 28 and it got received on March 2nd ?

Yes they will ask for the updated form as they evaluate the applications on the date they start to look at. I sent mine in July 14 the form was updated August and when they looked at it requested the updated form which put the application back to start over.

I had similar issue. Form updated Feb 2015 and I used the older version to submit it. Now my spouse has traveled and in Canada now. Do I have to change her address to the Canadian one and will they ask to update other documents as well? This is just going to lengthen the processing time
