Congrats Smile_Canada. We almost have the same timeline. My application is family of four with one adult child and I am based here in Calgary. No update for me yet and looking forward to it next week. I guessed you are in BC.
I should start reading again the discover Canada.

Good luck and all the best.

Does your fingerprint letter outline the reason why fingerprints were requested?

I read some speculations on why they request fingerprints. The most conceivable one was that CIC checks the RCMP database using only your name and if your name is common then there is a high chance the check would be inconclusive. In that case, CIC asks the applicants to submit his/her fingerprints to resolve any ambiguities. On the plus side somebody is working on your file and it is not gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.

I am a newcomer to the forum. I am over 56. My timeline as follows:

Citizenship application: March 24, 2015
Application received: March 27, 2015
eCAS on April 16 says:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on March 27, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 14, 2015.

I did not receive any acknowledgement till today (Aug.08) neither through email nor CanadaPost. I did not see any further progress on e CAS yet. I called them. They told that received means it is in process. Did somebody experience the same on the forum? I am quite worried. May be my file fell from the shelf.

amk when you call CIC and identify yourself, they ask you some questions to confirm your identity. After confirming your identity they pull up your file online and see it. I had sent additional docs and a fax later to expedite my process and they could see all the docs online in my file. So when they say your file is in process, rest assured they mean it and nothing to worry. Call them up again and reconfirm for your consolation to make sure that they do see they are in receipt of your application. All the best.

Thanks Andrew7007 for your kind help. By the way, I am from GTA.
