Yes, that is the only way to know which date your exas changed to medical a recieved, in process, DM, etc.

Yeah have to check once a day on ecas. I've always been told by others that ecas is very slow to update, but for myself, the updates were right on time.

I'm curious where those of you who have received the passports back with the visas in them got the notification as to how they were coming? Was it on ECAS or in emails? We got DM on the 17th, and so far we have no idea how/when the passport will be returned from Manila.

We took the passport directly to the VAC.
They gave us a number so we could track the passport and sent the same updates through mobile text
If you received any kind of code you can track it on the VAC website for the office it was sent to.. if you sent it to one.
Nothing showed up on our ecas about the passport being requested or anything about the passport actually.
Just Decision Made and that someone would be in contact.

I recently read a post that someone recieved the CORP 8 days after DM appeared on ECAS. So I think your passport will come this coming week.

It's called the "Visa Application Center", you can read more on the link below. Some Visa Offices use the VAC to collect the passports from the applicants.

VACs are well worth it. The service fee you pay is the same as the shipping cost if u had sent it in yourself, but you get the added benefit of tracking the processing of the passport.

Ah, no, didn't have anything like a VAC - just dropped the passport in a DHL envelope and asked that they send it collect back to our address.

So I've not been in this thread since I got my sponsorship approval all the way back in April, but thought I might give everyone an update in case they want to update the excel sheet...

We didn't get an AOR 2 from Abu Dhabi at all...We directly got a passport request...

ECAS was updated to in process on 10th September 2014.
Passport Request was made 14th October 2014
ECAS was updated to Decision Made on 15th October 2014
Visa Received on 27th October 2014

Oh that's cool. We have a VAC in Costa rica here. My husband used it a couple of years ago when we applied for a visitors visa, I didn't realize they did extra stuff like that though.
