I received AOR may 13th and got the SA today, may 22nd! Off to London now ;D

Yay! Congrads!

I hate to sound silly...but what exactly is the second AOR? Acknowledge of receipt? is this directly from the visa office?

We applied on Mar 28, 2014..we got an email on May 14 with our UCl number..then we got another email on May 15..my husband was eligible for sponsorship...
Now we are waiting for the second AOR...but what is it?

How long does it normally take to receive your second AOR?

AOR2 is simply the acknowledgement of receipt from the visa office letting the applicant know they received the application. Not all VO do this, and i'm sorry to say Ottawa is one of the VO that doesn't send AOR2. :( The first time they will contact you is if they need more information or are ready to issue COPR.

Guys--here comes another noob here in this forum ;D. I applied for my wife on March 6, 2014. Application was received at CPC-M on March 7. They sent me the AOR on April 4 and SA on April 7 both via my mail. Is my wife supposed to get another letter like a few of you said above? When I check the status it says --application was received on March 7 and Medical received. Just a waiting game I guess. Have a good one guys. I will keep you posted. BTW my visa office is Singapore.

Wife is supposed to get a letter, only if on her application form, it was only her contact info that you wrote down, and not your own. I put my own email on mine and my wife's application form so that all correspondence goes to me directly.

Other than that, yes it's just a waiting game. Singapore VO here too, 2nd longest processing time in the world, happy waiting :)

Still no news on my end. >:(. It's been a long painful wait and just one email sent to me about the need to update a form. No AOR yet means no UCI number so I can't really know what is going on.

Aww sorry to hear that Koifish. I'm guessing you're waiting long because you sent an outdated form right?

Hi, Is there anyone here knows good and trusted immigration lawyer around Edmonton? May I have their office's address?

have you tried calling CIC yet? 2 weeks after we sent in our missing doc, i had my husband call once a week for an update. the second time, they gave him a temporary client id, which ended up being his UCI. They told him it can take 3-4 weeks for a document to be added to the application. Also, check your document request letter and see how many days they gave you to return it. they *may* be waiting for that to pass before sending anything else.

Ya guys, outdated form. It was the first one i completed. The thing that bothers me is I submitted everything when wait time listed was 28 days. I planned a trip here to Thailand to occur around 40 days after i Submitted, just in case of problems. Two days of arriving here, finally they email me about an updated form needed. I would think that if they see the sponsor form is outdated, an email can be sent quite a bit sooner, if not, then at least around the listed wait time for processing sponsor application. The not knowing is hard because we want to apply for a TRV after SA and everything takes time and planning.

Its not easy calling as I am hard of hearing. Calling long distance without a reference number to begin with is difficult. There is a series of numbers we have to push before even speaking with a person? I know I saw somewhere and someone did not want people to see? Wish I took a snapshot. It's going to be an interesting phone call to say the least with us (she knows english well but is still hard on phone hearing strangers english, and me who more or less has to depend on what she can relay to me).
