Yay! Congrads!
Hope we can turn the spreadsheet really blue this week, and maybe even add some more red to it as well!

Hey All! Im checking this topic from time to time :D My application has been received by CIC on March 10th, on April 1st i got letter that my sponsor has been approved. My application is in Warsaw since April 4th, info about Medical is also updated :) So everything is going great for me!
I have a friend, she is still waiting for first email from CIC. Her application should be received by CIC on March 27th. We were checking processing times now, on the page they say, that on 7th of May they were working on applications from March 28th. According to this note, she should get her email around 6th of May.. Shes waiting 45 days already, but it should be 40 or less. She is worried, maybe her application fell under the table? What do you think guys? Should she call to CIC or keep waiting?

there are still march applicants still waiting. CIC seemed to have had a back up with march applicants, because of the amount of applicants, a long weekend, and a system bug. The current processing time is 40 days... if she wants she can call CIC and get an update. My guess is she will hear this week, as they seem to be wrapping up march applicants. I think it's important to remember that even though they give a specific date of what applications they are working on, it doesn't mean they are finished processing all the other applications received before then. To me, that just means they started opening up applications from that specific date, not that they are sending approvals for applications from that date.

Hmm ok, thanks for answer! For me,i was always receiving answers before this processing time passed. For my common-law app i got email after 20 days, when processing time was saying 27 days. When i was extending my visitor visa before,i got letter after 9 days, when processing time was 19. Thats why i feel worried about my friend's application.

consider yourself lucky. your story is certainly not the norm. most people have been waiting longer than posted processing times. a majority of applicants from mid-late march received word at the end of last week. also, CIC may have sent a letter instead of email to your friend. they don't seem to always send emails even if an email was provided for both applicant and sponsor. if the sponsor didn't put an email on the application, they won't notify him through the applicant's email... they would notify him through regular mail. also, did your friend apply as common-law and from the same home country as you? Every application is different, so there's really no way to know for sure why some people get notified quicker than others. it depends on who picks up the application at CIC and how busy their desk is!

As i know, they wrote emails. Also shes from same country as me (Poland) and her situation is very similar to mine. We were helping each other with our applications. Thank you for your answer! I appreciate it.

Ok so we called cic today to try to find out where our application is on terms of destination and if it still in transit or it finally recieved by Accra . The lady was nice, she said she has no way of checking online but she's sure it on the way to Accra still or it been recieved and that only the applicant can check now. Or give the sponsor permit to check also . She also mentioned that usually it takes about three months for applications to be opened so maybe we will hear something in three month. Just keepin you guys informed. Congrats to all new SAs.

Hi y'all.

Like I stated in my previous post, I received my AOR on May 8th, 2014 and I am still waiting for my SA.
However, I was wondering if can travel to U.S for 3 or 4 days while they are still processing my sponsorship application and re-enter Canada without a problem. I don't want them to refuse to approve me as a sponsor just because I left Canada during the first step of the process.
I am PR holder and my application is outland.

at this point where there is no answer to my application i consider call center pretty much useless :'( they cant do anything further after first request for a period of 90 days :-\ henceforth wait till july 2014 to give CIC further request. ::) ::) ::)

still the same stupid answer. working upto march 28 nonsense. call center lady was rude and she hung up the call >:( >:(

have they at least given you a temp file number or uci? my husband called twice... the first time there was nothing to report. the second time they gave him a temp id # which turned out to be his UCI#.

at first they said there is no record, but i explained my email response in response to status request she found record in system. tracked my calls and said there is nothing we can do, they have emailed u file status :( ...i asked them how come other applicants from different regions have rcvd AOR / SA by now, still same answer.!

NO AOR OR SA or temporary # has been provided. All we know is that our file was rcved on a certain date and we will get a decision made soon!
