KRM said:Hi everyone! I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my Korean wife. We've lived together in Korea for the past few years and have a 2-year-old son. We will continue to live in Korea until the application goes through (Manila). CIC received our package March 20th, AOR received April 24th, SA on April 25th, medical exam March 11th (have to double check that last one).
It seems the spreadsheet is locked...if someone could include our info, I'd be greatly appreciative.
Thanks for creating this group! Looking forward to support and advice here
Speaking of which...we just found out my wife is pregnant with our second child. Any advice on whether we should inform the Manila office, and how to do so (letter? phone?) would be great.
Thanks!
Added you both to the spreadsheet just now. Welcome!MS.COLORS said:Hello everyone. I'm new here and I'd like to join the group
I mailed the applications on March 19th. (They received on 20th)
I got AOR on 24th April and got SA today.
My office is Manila.
I hope everything going smoothly. Now I just need to be patient.
Hope you all the best! Thanks!
not yet guess they are still working on20thpameyb said:AOR today? I havn't heard anything yet.

Thank you very much for your response..As you suggested I called CIC call center today and they told me that my file is sent for further verification. They also told me that they issued me a letter for me on Apr 15 for informing me about this but I didn't received any letter..Not Sure what does verification means? I have no clue what the heck is this..people who applied after me already got their Sponsorship approval letter..Do you have any clue or u heard in the past about the same case?Seronic said:I got my SA in the mail about 1 month after I got AOR. But I called a week after AOR, (march 26th I called, I think), and they told me over the phone I already had SA and a letter was mailed. So, it doesn't hurt to call and ask. Ask them something like "I would like to know if I have been approved as a sponsor for my wife? I've received AOR "blah" days ago but no answer yet..." something like that. Hopefully you can get an answer from them .

Thanks for your time.. ..
if your husband (the sponsor) already received AOR and SA, then this sounds like the 2nd AOR some visa offices send to confirm they have received the applicant's paperwork. congrats!soblue3 said:Hi
On April 23 i received an email addressed to my husband...not sure if that is because he nominated me as his representative? its the 3 email from immigration since we filed. This one just states that his application has been received.... i have received another one before stating that my application has been received and then that i have been approved as a sponsor. Does it mean now his application is starting to be processed? because on the status check at the immigration site it said that his application has been received in Paris on April 10th. ?
snail mail must be slower than updates online. i've heard that the sponsor and the applicant will receive separate UCI numbers. i haven't gotten any yet, so i cant confirm this. my guess is that it hasn't been updated in the system yet, as i've heard it takes up to a week for the system to catch up with CIC decisions.soblue3 said:Ohh thanks for your answer. well i am the sponsor and he just put me as a representative...so i guess this AOR must be from the Paris office and the first one was from Canada. But on line it say they already received it in paris. Aslo it contains another UCI number...but i am not sure how to check it because if he is the primary applicant ...do i still go through sponsorship..then family class outland? i tried that with my number and it works fine but with his number it did not work.
thanks! my husband found out today that it's going to be at least another week before we know if they have received our missing document. apparently it takes 3-4 weeks for the information to get attached to the original application. he will be calling again next week to check in. fingers crossed!soblue3 said:thanks for your reply i hope you get your numbers soon.
i got approved as a sponsor on April 7 well i just wonder if then sending us another email means that they started to look at his application already.atrivera said:Hi Sameer,
I'm not sure about the letter regarding further verification, but I know that my sponsor approval took much longer as they had to verify that I was not on welfare with the province. Despite the turnaround time with the province being 1-2 business days, CIC still took almost a month to verify that. It is probably just something like this.
