Would anyone please head me to the right direction on how to do upfront medicals? I've seen different threads saying different things about it. I am a March 2014 applicant, and leaving for vacation for a month at early August until Sept which I will predict the request will come out (hopefully :)).

Thank you!

@ shivahn

I had been to Dr. Kulhman for upfront medicals. Their service is quite ok and results are uploaded fast (max 2 weeks in my case) better compared to other places as read on this forum. The front desk people are very helpful and provide you all information required. Just double check whether your details are entered correctly when they give you the acknowledgement.

Book appointment early in morning, the test will take approximately 2-3 hours. Blood work and X-ray will be referred to different places on Dixie road which is 5 - 10 min. drive, hence arrange your personal transportation rather than depending on Miway transport. Total cost for adults CAD 196 / person, kids CAD 140 only cash is accepted and a vague receipt which is of no use will be provided.

Once you are done with your tests you can leave for the day and check back after a week or so about your results and book appointment with Doctor to discuss results. If results are good they will upload on the same day, otherwise they may ask you for further tests.

Hope this helps.

I don't know if you update these stuff, but I did my upfront medicals yesterday in Vancouver using eMedicals. After the exam I scanned the information sheet with the UMI (Unique Medical Identifier) & barcode and sent it to the cpp-ottawa email.

question..

where exactly would we write our names for the manager's check?

should we affix our signature with it?

That's the first time I hear of a thing called "manager's check", what's that supposed to be?

My current Workpermit is expiring on Feb, 2015 and its a closed one. As per CIC guide I can apply BOWP only by October 2014 (4 months before current one expires). Meantime my employer is sending me back home due to contract closure. I am planning to apply BOWP by this month, will CIC approve my BOWP? does anybody falls in same scenario ?

that is one of the mode of payment for canadian embassy here in the philippines. if you wont go for bank draft then a manager's check would be fine.
