Nops, I didn't... I really don't know why the delay. In all cases, in the AOR email, they said that if I didn't hear back from them in 120 days, to contact them. On December 3rd, the 120 days will have elapsed. So I am waiting till then to contact them back.

TRT 17 and ak1737 - I'm still waiting too :(
App filed, Mar 30, AOR rec'd Jun 21.
I think there's still a few of us from March. I figure my 120 days is coming up on the 18th October. I'll be emailing and calling them daily at that point.

Worst thing for me is that my work won't help me get an LMO, and my work permit expires mid January 2013. I am hoping for the best, but it's going to be tight even if i do get passed in time.

Hi ak1737, if they said 120 days from AOR, it'll be technically by Nov 3 2012..!!!..Not December 3 2012. So in that period you should expect your medicals I guess...

HI bigben3, you are right. I mis-calculated...

Hi anipear, I hope you get it as soon as possible because I know how it feels to be in that situation.

Hi Guys

I have a question for you all. Is LMO needed for every job. I am on PGWP and I have a full time permanent job as a nurse. I have no conditions on my work permit and my job offer letter. I was told that the position that I have is mine for life unless I resign or do something terribly bad that can result into my licensing organization cancelling my nursing license.

My question is...Can I just directly extend my work permit. I am just getting ready for the worse case scenario and be ready to extend my stay if I don't hear anything from CIC for my CEC application because I have seen some people waiting for the answer for a year.

Thanks

Hello guys,

Just wanted to check, i did my medicals last 2 weeks back and got to know that my blood report shows I had STD....
although I was aware of it.... but denied it while having the questions during the medical examination... I was very much embarrassed to say yes as my doc told me I am all cured when I did my medical check up in March 2012... ??? ??? So I did my medical check up.. and unfortunately the blood report it shows as dormant...(non active) so went and got medical certificate from my prev. doc stating that I got treated for the infection.....

Just worried about my PR? I cant let that happen to me.....
I am all cured and dont have any other complications in my medicals other than this..

Please tell me if there will be any problem in getting my papers done....

Really you should be fine. Reason that you would be deemed inadmissable states here under medical grounds:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/inadmissibility/who.asp

So unless youre a hazard to the public, or becoming a medical burden on the system, then youre fine.

You'll probably have to get an LMO in order to extend it. However, if your home country is either the USA or Mexico, you can be NAFTA-exempt. Registered nurses are allowed to go across borders according to NAFTA regulations. I'm currently on a NAFTA permit as a librarian -- I just had to cross the border, show them my job offer letter that says I'll be working as a librarian, and they give me a work permit. Easy as that. However, if you're non-North American, an LMO is probably the only way to go. Good luck.

Thank you! I am from non exempt country...I am just going to pray that I get my PR before that!

alvin there is in the main application a place a tthe top where you put your name and any additional names you used in the past you should've put that name there.

Hi ihabkal
thanks for the quick reply, in my application form i did put down my English name as my additional names but i haven't change my driver license name and health card yet so just wondering if that will effect my application process time since i not sure after i change the name on my license do i have to send CIC a letter to let them know?
