Hey all,

Checking if anyone else is in my situation from March applicants.

I got my medical request on September 13 - completed it on September 23. According to the doctor, the medical reached Ottawa on October 5.

Haven't received an update since then. ECAS says 'In Process' and inside says 'Medical results have been received'.

I emailed CPP-O last week and they replied with the following:

In response to your email, our records show that we are currently waiting for the results of the mandatory background enquiry.

Is anyone else in a similar situation? Any idea how much longer this might take?

I am in a worse situation, same time frame as yours but my status doesn't even say "Medicals received" . I emailed them, they confirmed medicals were received but no other details. I don't know what's going on anymore...I am not even from a high risk country or anything, the two issues I can think of is I have visited a lot of countries in the last five years (but only lived in Canada) and I have changed address in Canada many times. I think our cases may be in the remaining 20% that do not get completed in the usual time sad but true.

I got my medical request on September 4. The medical reached Ottawa on September 19 (according to Canada post). Ecas updated as 'Medical results have been received' on first week of October. I havent heard anything until today. I just eamiled CPP-O and waiting for thier replying. This is annoying. PPR usually takes between 1 to 3 months.
Im from South Korea and I dont think it's high risk contry. Last trip I made was in 2008 for a month and lived in Canada for 10 years. I lived in Canada since I was 15 years old so There are not much reasons for this delay

Hi Guys,

I am in a much much more worse situation. I received AOR on July 3rd. ECAS Status showing application being in process since october 31st. Haven't heard anything since and no medicals

What did you get exactly? can you paste the response here please?

Here's the response:

In response to your email, our records show that we are currently waiting for the results of the mandatory background enquiry.

No action or document is required from your part at this present time.

Our office will get in contact with you regarding the next steps in your file, in due time.

CIC online status says Medical Received. It's been that way since October though. Any ideas?

well... I guess you have to wait! they do background check for every body. If you've been in countries that Canada does not have a good political relationship, your check will take longer.

iam in the situation applied in march and since that time havent heared from them, so 2 weeks ago i called them and the lady gave me an email where they can help me, so i emailed them and they replied with my file number and stating that they dont need anything from my part at this time and they will contact me in due time and they cant provide any timeframe .

For the record, my ECAS status changed to 'In Process' today! No Medical Request email yet though.
