thanks everyone....

On a side note, all of our communication was by email. We had provided the email address to CIC on the forms, so that is what they used for everything.
Email from CPP-O, email from Paris office for AOR, and then email for PPR.

We did order the GCMS and we got it last week, it gave us a good idea on the application, you just have to read/analyze the notes carefully.
Email is so much faster, and visa offices in Europe are quite efficient in communication, unlike some of those offices in the 3rd world.
Nevertheless, the process is, thankfully, over for us.

BTW, they asked for 2 recent photos (PR Specifications) along with the passport, and a completed 1-page declaration(VO specific) which just asks for name, address info, etc.

I wonder where the 9 photos we originally gave are used, lol. Total photos = 11 for this!

We stayed away from unnecessary inquires to the visa office. Did not need any letters of support, or anything from family members. Just the marriage certificate, PCC, and labelled photographs were sent from wedding and reception, and 1 wedding invitation card with english translation. And after file transfer, sent a few skype conversation history printouts, fresh PCC and long-distance phone card call record from the phone for last 3-4 months. Photos from 1-2 outings together after marriage were also sent. It was a pain labelling each photo with details. We filled all the forms on the computer to avoid messy application feeling, and only provided what was asked.

Now we have to arrange the 3-month health insurance coverage.....

Best of luck to everyone and i hope everyone is united with their spouses/kids asap.
Remember to help others even after your process is completed if possible.

If you get the insurance through a Canadian company it is cheaper just some advice :)

Just checked my application status and it now says In process. They started processing my application on Sept. 17th. Finally some feedback. I hope it finishes quickly !

I received this reply after asking the Ottawa office if they had received my RCMP clearance letter:

"Thank you for your email,

Please note that it will take at least one week before the new documents are attached to your application. In the mean time, please send me a copy of your passport visa email, only the bio-data page will suffice, please do so by replying directly to this email.

Please if you were sent a request for new medical examination, make sure that you and your children get the medical examination done by one of the designated medical practionners from Immigration Canada."

I emailed a copy of my passport page right away. I have not received a request for new medical exams.

In my GCMS notes, Note 2 (dated October 24) stated "MEDS expired please request new MEDS". But then under note 1 (dated October 29) it stated "MEDS extended X3". I sent a copy of this back with my reply email. Does this mean they extended my MEDS?

I wonder how far out I am now...I really hope to have it by Dec. 7.

Thanks for your help.

They

Hey Cgagnon,

Could you give me more information on this? I just got DM on ecas, and I am already in Canada, so I need to arrange something. I got covered by a company from outside of Canada, until end of November, but I need to wait until I'm covered (landing in BC).
Any info would be appreciated!
thanks,
Sweden

If you try online many are available for quote, we are with manulife. It cost us peanuts compared to companies in the states. I would look at Blue cross , manulife, Canada life and Union. The higher your deductible the cheaper it is I went for a 250$ deductible. Every province regulates their own insurance licences so I cannot sell or refer you to anyone as I'm in Quebec. PM if you want helper more Info :)

Sorry to hear that :( from what I have been reading here looks like a lot of people have landed.
At this point i think I am looking at Jan/Feb before my husband will land :(
Did anyone else here have to send an RCMP police check or have to do an ARC?

I am still here too...pretty sure that we are going to have to do the RCMP and ARC too but I still have not heard nothing from my VO yet.....
