ya, knew that already...but the letter says that standard cases get processed in about 10 months.

I'm just trying to understand becuase this CIC business, has no rules, no logic, no consistency and add to this their posted information are wrong

There are two steps in processing family sponsorship applications. In order to know the total approximate time it may take for your application to be processed, ADD the time in step 1 to the time in step 2 (the two steps are consecutive).

The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012. Processing times are subject to change.

It should be yes. It may change as the VO goes over your application. If you're processing through NVDO, they'll fix it at some point (they are used to issuing counterfoils). The issue is when you are processed through a VO that normally handles visa-exempt applicants but ends up with a non-exempt applicant - they can miss the need for the counterfoil.

When you send your passport, make sure you include a cover letter and draw this to their attention. It's not a big deal for them to generate, but you don't want to get a passport back without the necessary paperwork.

this is big problem.. hope they look into the matter and will sort it out.
by the way if i would have met CG before i would have made him my rep in this application case as he knows so much

is there any limit to order GCMS notes ?
would they mind if i order another one ? (or more than one ) ;D

Sure. Say "I noticed in reviewing my GCMS notes that my file indicates no counter-foil is required but that is incorrect" or "I realize that most applications you handle would not require a counterfoil but I do..." You aren't going to offend a VO.

When I sent my passport, I requested that they return it within 2.5 weeks and included a copy of my travel itinerary. They just did it - never heard anything from them one way or the other but it sure does look like they read it.
