Hey everyone. Quick question. We sent in our application without the medical, as at the time, we were told not to until we received instructions from the visa office. I've since found out that information wasn't accurate, however it hasn't affected our application so far, as we've been approved for stage 1. We're thinking of getting the medical done next week...should we proceed with this or wait until we hear from the Visa office? My thoughts are that if we get it done now, by the time a visa officer opens the app in Bogota, they will have all the required info. Thoughts?
very interesting, and good

I agree "you should have your Med. done as soon as possible". You are lucky that they proceeded with your application.

We were told the same thing... We did receive the medical request in June, so I would agree with everyone to go and have it done. Just stay ahead of the game :)

What happened?

They have sent people's applications back for not having the meds done.

I thought we had to have EVERYTHING when we submitted the application so I waited until Feb to file as it took forever to gather everything. Had I known they do accept applications that are missing some parts I would have filed much sooner rather than second guess myself what took me so long to file if I was married 6 months prior to filing. I guess its a matter of luck if the officer will accept an incomplete application or not. They should allow everyone to send in incomplete applications since some parts they dont even look at for months and it takes months for us to obtain certain records (like police check).

I thought so. I don't like this complete inconsistency in CIC very very inefficient incompetent ... etc. These people unfortunately would say Yes or No to critical issues!!

Congratulation. We are at the same point now. Can you give me posted when she will receive her passport back? They change her home address last week but we are still waiting for the documents.

Thanks!

Still waiting on the letter from the CIC. How long does the letter take? According to the CIC site they mailed the letter Aug 21.
I did call them and told I was approved, but I would still be getting a letter.

Also is it just a letter or do you get a whole package back?

you will get a one page letter for sponsor approval.....the letter was probably processed on August 21st and mailed out on August 24th....depending where you live you should have not later than the end of this week........they will make you wait 4 weeks before re-sending a copy of the letter..........the rest of your package gets sent out to your specific VO......so stage 2 started for you as at August 21/12!!!!
