Yes I am going crazy I need that sponsorship approval before June 7th to help with the extension of his visitor visa...(even though he is from a Visa exempt country!) We should hear news today it seems its always on tuesday....hopefully they will bombard those e-mails out!

cgagnon was it difficult getting ur husband to come and visit? if you dont mind, can you inform me on when you sent in your application, and when your husband came to visit?

My is from a Visa Exempt country, and we're working on a date next month when she can come and visit. our application was mailed full on March 27.

Hey Shana, glad you joined with us. 71 days and counting yes for sure, when I applied it was 55 days so really ready to hear something soon!

Hi Marlon,

My husband is from the U.S. and we drove across the border. We didn't have any issues at all and we even came in on September 11, 2011. We thought we might have a problem because of the date itself thinking they'd be doing extra security that day, but they just asked how long he was planning on staying (we said a month). We told them we were friends that met on World of Warcraft and my husband (fiance at the time) was coming to visit me and my roommate. My hubby had his car packed full of stuff. I did look like he was moving since he had all kinds of kitchen and house ware stuff. The guard questioned him about all the stuff and he said that he was staying for a month and didn't know how much stuff he would need so he brought it all. The guard just laughed and waived us through. He didn't swipe or type anything into a computer and just stood there with my hubby's U.S. passport card and my passport. We didn't receive a visitor's record or anything at that time and we were successful on getting a visitor's extension good for a year. Maybe they're more strict at larger border crossings, but the one we went to (1000 islands) is more relaxed than most.

Ahhh good ol' 1000 Islands Bridge! I live right near that. Hubby likes the border people there, they were very nice and welcomed him back to Canada during his second visit. :)
