Hi All, Sorry I haven't been active with providing updates on my case.
I actually was on vacation with my wife and our Daugther for a month. Was lucky enough to bring them from Karachi to Dubai for the month. I guess it's easier to go out and enjoy everything in Dubai then Karachi (not so safe). After spending a month with them it was really hard to see them go back to Karachi and myself to come back to Canada. But, I guess it is something we all have to go thru to see our families.
So just a quick update. While I was away in Dubai, I received an e-mail on June 29th that CIC received my application for sponsorship (March 23rd) and later received approval as a sponsor on July 4th. The file was sent to Islamabad for Stage 2. One stage down, 1 more to go!!!

Almost 10 weeks and nothing I am soo in the same boat as all of you! *SIGH*

We got the sponsorship approval on June 25th, 2012 and it took until August 6th, for the Beijing VO to change our online status to "In process". The strange part is that when I clicked on the "In process" link, it said they had been processing the application in Beijing since July 31st! So it took them 1 week to just change the online status.

So, who knows, maybe your app is in process too and they just haven't updated your online status. Their doesn't seem to be much method to the madness, maybe it's a different employee that does status updates. In the end, we'll never know the mystery that goes on in the visa offices.

UPDATE:

My wife just got an email: her passport has now been requested by the Beijing VO!!!!!!!

As we preemptively sent her passport in last week, they already have it so hopefully, it won't take long to send it back with a nice shiny visa in it!

Stay positive people! You will not have to wait forever, it'll come for you too!

I'm in the same boat as you (no pun intended!) we haven't heard anything from Bogota yet, and I don't want to miss another stellar ski season!
