I think that your case is not very strange. In my case, it took a total of 3 months & 2 days between MR letter date and PPR request date. I believe that there is no harm in sending your VO an email to ask whether there is anything pending from your side. If the medical has not reached them then the email will prompt them to inform you else you might receive a confirmation email that nothing is pending or even (in the best case) your PPR. I suggest that you just write once to them.
