Hello everyone,

I'm planning to short land within 2 months from now. I already had my visa ready 3 weeks ago.
I'm under FSW category and planning to land in Toronto.

Would you please help me with the following queries .

1- I'm planning to land for 10 days only and I've arranged with a friend inside Canada to receive and ship my " PRC" ... Is it preferable to tell the officer that my landing is going to be short or not?? ( he can easily discover from airplane tickets but I read somewhere that if s/he knew then maybe s/he will not order" prc" to be mailed).

2-I have some savings which I intend to bring with me later when I go back to Canada for final and I want to know what should I do when landing to declare my savings so I don't have to pay taxes for them later.....( I have money in bank accounts, money given as a dept to friends and family and some properties in my home country Syria and in my country of current residency Saudi..... I can't get official proof of owning some of them)

3- my wife has some personal jewelries and she intend to take them with her to Canada later .... When and how should I declare for them so I can bring them safely later?

I still have some other questions but I'll put them later.

Thanks in advance.

1. no need to tell officer you are coming for short stay. they will not check your ticket. you will invite trouble for yourself if you tell this thing to the officer.
2. you have to bring the proof of landing amount with you at the time of landing. later you can bring unlimited cash with you, you do not have to declare now that you will bring cash later, no one will ask where you get this money, like the source in your home country. there is no tax on cash that you bring from your home country even on second or third visit, you just have to declare it, that is all.
3. Very important thing is jewellery. even if you are not bringing the jewellery with you on your first landing, take photos of all the jewellery and get them stamped on your first visit, you can bring them later, keep the stamped photos and when you come later with the jewellery you can show the stamped photos and there will be no tax, otherwise if you do not get the photos stamped on your first landing you will have to pay tax on the second visit.

thanks

@ atifhassankhan

Thanks fot your precious reply.

I was told that taxes should be paid for investments outside Canada as well....
If I bring cash with me later in 2ed visit without previously declaring it then how can I proof it's a saving and not an investment gain?

the tax that you have heard is for those who file their income tax in Canada and then show that income for the income tax purposes. if u bring on your visit any cash u can just tell it is inherited, but no one will ask u this question.

Is that also true even if I brought cash im my second visit or if I made a bank transfer after my first landing visit?
