the emergence kasi of the supervisa is to actually avoid children bringing in their parents to canada tapos after a few years eh pensionado na agad. parang instead na canada ang magbenefit eh nalulugi pa yung government kasi they have to provide allowance to elderly kahit never nakapagtrabaho sa canada. kaya nga when you apply for supervisa, the children have to buy insurance for the parents before pa makarating ng canada.. yun lang din ang nabasa ko. but i hope you are right as i am planning on sponsoring my dad and stepmom. they are both young and able to work pa naman kaya sana pwede pa magsponsor soon. supervisa kasi parang visit visa lang. ayaw ng tatay ko ng nasa bahay lang. hehe.

ah kaya pla. yan din ang sabi ng hubby ko sis. sana nga pero sabi nila 2 yrs lang naman daw un kc 24 months so 2 yrs nga diba. :)
madala na sana din natin ang mga parents natin asap. ;D

hello guys pili sasali dito...
balak ko kasing mag sponsor sa parents ko ... pero ang CIC they change it to SuperVisa Parents and Grandparents..

May idea baka kayo how to fill-up the form and where i can get it.. please help me.. thanks

CIC did not change the Parents' Sponsorship to Super Visa. The Super Visa is a new temporary resident visa (TRV) which allows parents or grandparents of Canadian citizen and Permanent Resident to visit Canada for a maximum of 2 years. This particular TRV is only for parents and grandparents. If you wish to include your sibling, you have to apply for the regular TRV for your sibling. There is a temporary pause for Parents' Sponsorship application because of what they call "backlog" which basically means that the volume of application in this category is getting way higher each year. During the "pause" they are working on thousands of applications and their goal is to complete these thousands of applications before the pause timeframe ends.

now that's clear. thanks Moraine!

We picked multiple entry for my parents, 300 CAD+Medical Exams+Medical Insurance 4K Canadian for both parents+documents+Air21 courier fees sa atin. Plus yung plane ticket pa. Parang 15K CAD yung nagastos namin sa lahat lahat na. This is for both parents. Because Super Visa is another visitor visa, the holder is not allowed to work. :(

I applied for my parents' PR on 2008. So before I applied for my parents' Super Visa this year, I checked with CIC kung pwede mag apply while I still have parents' PR application being processed. They said na OK naman daw. Super Visa is expensive because of the medical insurance, but it helps when your parents are here with visit visa which is not covered by public health insurance. May patient kami with regular visit visa, her daughter is now paying about 2K a day sa hospital hindi pa kasali ang mga gamot. I used to think na stupid and private health insurance na requirement, but now I understand it totally. May mga additional tests pa kasi sa Mama ko kaya medyo beyond sa budget namin, but you know what it's worth it kasi they both love this place ayaw na nilang umuwi sa atin, nyahahaha, and oh yeah we got 2-way tickets for them kasi which was the biggest mistake we did, but I hope you guys will learn from this. Di na kelangan ng 2-way pag Super Visa, OK?

do you think its possible to apply for supervisa and when they arrive in canada apply for sponsorship na if in case the temporary pause is lifted na?

i was informed nga of the health insurance because the govt is being burdened nga of parents and grandparents' health care. and marami ata nagrereklamo that its harder to sponsor siblings who are more capable to be a contirbution to the govt kesa sa parents and grandparents. makes sense

You are misinformed. The private health insurance required for Super Visa is for your benefit because Super Visa, again, is a temporary resident visa, the holder is not covered by the public health insurance. There are quite a few cases where a visitor had to be hospitalized and most of them are seniors. Their children had to pay thousands of CAD for hospitalization and drugs.

If you want to sponsor your sibling, they have this what they call "Provincial Nominee" which I am not quite familiar with. But, you can check with CIC. I know it's tough, but atleast do not get confused by personal experiences shared by many members here. Always check with the most reliable source of correct information.
