I wish I could have done the same for my wife too as that was the original plan, However I want to take 2 weeks off from work to help her settle in here before I have to return to work. Taking the time off to go pick her up would cut severely into time where I can help her to settle and show her around. She understands how I feel and why I have chosen to just meet her at the local airport when she arrives.

It's very reasonable Chris..every wife will understand the situation .my husband wanted to pick me up because this is my first time to be out in the philippines and he wants to help me on the papers in the immigration soon.

Yeah I understand well with abroad lifestyle just ofocurse this is my first time to be out in Phil's ,and my husband don't want me be alone when it's my first time .i really appreciate on him a lot with that.its very sweet! Yup

Yep its scary being out of your country for the 1st time, Definitely understand your husbands concern. It is a very long trip to get here.

Yeah that's true, last night me and my wife were talking about the idea of me going to the Philippines and coming back here with her once her visa is approved. Just like you I thought it would be better to take time off while here so I can show her around the city. @Very Happywife you must be so excited. Has your flight been book? Wednesday CIC pick up our application package. I wonder if they will send out a letter acknowledging they receive the application and it is fill out correctly with the proper supporting documents.

Yes,really very happy and excited. I got my visa in Cebu yesterday ,have it stamped early this morning and just got home in negros this afternoon.was very tired but feels great that it's done and we will be together with my husband soon.i can't wait to see him.everything is booked and soon ready to go.oh that's good it's done picked up by cic.they will sure do send you acknowledgement about your application and if it is complete.just wait .

What ever decision you make now about it, I am guessing it will change half a dozen times hehehehe. My wife's flight is finally all set ... but hmmmmmm Should I call Air Canada and squeeze myself in for a week lol
The debate in my mind continues over it.

Only one week is tough. I squeezed in two weeks before my wife landed in Canada. To make it interesting it was SO last minute that we were on different airlines and my wife arrived here FIRST by 12 hours or more.

Yes it would be tough only 1 week.. but I would want it all ...go pick her up and have the time to spend here too before I have to go back to work. .... Reality will win out tho most likely. We will just have to fly over next year together for a proper visit.

Different airlines and she arrived first..hope it wasnt too difficult for you two.

Yeah, thankfully there was someone here to pick her up that she was somewhat familiar with from photos and the like. We figured to have her hang around the airport for that long after that itinerary would be too much.

Whoah! Visa on hand here, from November 2013 applicant. Finally, waiting's over. They issued my visa last April 7. no email from Immigration, besides an invite for the free pre-departure orientation from COA. DHL courier just knocked at my door and hand me my package.

Thank you , me and my wife decided not to worry about it and just have faith that everything will work out.
