Great to see movement on your app. Should'nt be much longer now hopefully.
Good Luck
It's great to see anything different!! Sad that it took an MP that doesn't represent me geographically to get anything happening! As I suspected the delay was supposedly caused by Medical info the VO couldn't locate..sheesh!
We're not done with this !@#$%&!!! yet but for sure a step closer!
Anniversary date for meds is approaching as is her NBI Clearance... With ANY luck they'll move on this before we have to re- do both..
What are the chances? Over time here I've seen quick progressions once In Process happens our we could just plod along situation normal..
Stay tuned!!

Was on mobile, switched to computer shows now.
Thanks

I'll have to wait to look...was trying to check current timeliness from In Process to DM...if the spreadsheets are being updated..
All I have available for the next half week is a phone..and for some reason I still can't view it..

What is the difference between the EXPIRATION and VALIDITY DATE of the medical results?

I suppose the expiration is one year from the date the medical was taken? In my gcms notes, the validity is around one month after the expiration date (one year).

Also, how long do "Security" and "Criminality" checking are done? My notes say "Not Started" for both. Frustrating!

In the ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT Section of the notes, it shows:
Conditional: Yes
Status: Recommend Passed

What do they mean?

Mr Peace..like us..they've done essentially nothing on your file..
Last ones we ordered in February..indicates the same thing..not started!

*You're correct about the medical dates..they're good until about a month after the submission days by the panel doctor I think..ours shows about the same as yours..
We're under the impression that NBI is also only good for one year but we haven't seen that confirmed by anyone..
As forr Eligibility..that's positive..ours indicated the same..recommend passed!
*We're there any other comments at the end..our last page had comments that were positive and then a notation that the file was passed to VO for review..tells me that whoever did the initial review want a Visa Officer..
The last notes we ordered in February indicated that the file had been " put away"...back to the Registry..

What do they mean?

We wrote to CEM in late February asking about the expiring medical..when they didn't respond to our inquiry I started writing my MP because CEM was stonewalling is..ignoring our request for information.
My MP was useless and I ended up connecting with an MP from a previous address who helped us..found out that there was an issue locating the medical info and within two days our ECAS went to IN PROCESS..
Can you or your spouse that's in Canada try getting your MP involved?
That CIC can have a policy that requires some to pay for services twice is !@#$@!!! and not equitable across the board!
I'm taking about the requirement to submit medical that are good for one year and a process that's stated as fourteen months..
When this is all said and done I'll address this with whomever will listen..including media..

Get a New Pasport with her married name or not ?

Can somebody advise me please....
We got married recently and I am applying for my wife
to become Permanent Resident in Canada, but when we
submit her applications we did using her name as in her
passport (single),
Is it advisable to change passport now ? our application
we are just at the beginning of the process... and the file
has not been transferred to Manila yet.

Thanks for your advise

Thanks JGM613.. The requested date of our GCMS notes is Feb 18, 2014.

I had my medicals on March 2013, just a few days after I submitted my application, so the validity of my medical results as reflected in the gcms notes is April 25. My first NBI had expired even before they sent a passport request so I already got a new one on Oct 2013 and sent together with the Appendix A. My wife already contacted her MP and was able to talk to the secretary who called CIC on January 30 as shown in the notes. Here's the latest info in the PAPER FILE HISTORY in the notes:

PAPER TRANSFER FILE HISTORY:
Created: Jan 16, 2014
Location: FC-PA's Area

What does that mean?

I'm just thankful that there are no negative comments in the notes. It mentioned that "ID and marital relationship established," and it was re-echoed in another note, "ID and marital relationship already established in previous notes," which I guess is positive. But what is ID?

Actually, the MP's secretary told my wife to go back on the anniversary of my application which is on the 2nd of April should I still did not get the visa. But I guess I will just ask her to go back next week and not to wait until the 2nd.

Jokingly but seriously ( ;D), I have suggested in another thread that somebody should ask a TV station in the Philippines to do an investigative report on CEM's sponsorship process. In that way perhaps, CEM will be keeping on their toes after. :)

The file location isn't in the Registry..it's just a file location code that identifies where it is.
We used the fact that CEM was not responsive to our request for info to justify our MP contact..and the fact that the medical was close to expiring.
The ID question is a confirmation that what you submitted is good enoughID to confirm you are who you say you are...and that the suporting documentation is sufficient to establish that your marriage is legitimate and not a fraud..

We submitted a clean application with her passport and all other ID showing her married name..
I'm not sure if now you need to wait for your passport request toshow them her married name
Maybe someone else can answer your question..
In the meantime you can organize your new passport and other ID..

I would recommend doing so before submitting, but to do so now I'm not so sure unless you really need to. We did so "before" we sent in our application, and all went well. I've only read of ONE very negative experience of a forum member attempting to do so. Look up the post history for 'Dan_from_Surrey' (also processed out of Manila), you'll find his story in there, and then choose accordingly. Be aware your wife's PR card will have her maiden name on it, unless she updates it now. A few here got their noses out of joint over that.

Gooner...do you recall how many days your ECAS was IN PROCESS before you got your DM? Or did it ever show up?

Thanks! Now here's another one. Under the APPLICATION SECTION part, there's an info that shows:

Group Name: FC - PRI 3A - STRAIGHTFORWARD - For Officer Review/Waiver Confirmation

I don't understand what does it mean.

Anyway, I don't see any red flags (as far as the gcms notes are concern) with my application, but wondering why it's taking too long.

Think it means likely that interview is waived but the actually Visa Officer makes the final decision on that..

The category that your application fits into is not complicated.. We basically have the same information ..A "straightforward" application without any complications..

As for why it takes so long...I wish we know..it's the luck of the draw and unfortunately some apps flow easier than others..

I know they're bogged down with the closures of Seoul and Tokyo...

This Conservative Government in power now in Canada is full of *!@#$%!!! and in spite of what they say about the importance of family re- unification they really don't care!
