this was the email I received after asking them an extension for my police clearance and promise to send my police clearance once availble but sad to say I cant have it......We note your email below. Please be advised that you may forward to our office the other required documents/information as soon as possible. You may send the original police certificate from China once available.

After 3 days I got email from a friend that I could not have it..So again I email the CEM and sent the screenshot... I am waiting for their reply now.... I am very very worried now.. I couldnt even sleep.. :'( :'( :'(

And try to get a definite commitment for an extension to the 45 days from CEM

I wonder why the lack of clearance paperwork wasn't caught during the screening in Mississauga..I thought these docs were to be included with your initial application submission..it's a requirement on the checklist..
Hope you can wiggle out of the thirty days CEM has requested or your application is in serious jeopardy..I hope you get a favorable response from them.

They aren't required with the initial submission as some of the countries you aren't even able to get a police clearance without a request from the embassy, and they won't give you one until you get past the sponsor approval stage. For our Singapore clearance we needed to wait until the VO in Manila sent us an email requesting the Clearance which we then gave to the Singapore police. It would have been impossible to include it in the initial submission as Singapore requires a letter from the embassy before they will process it.

Make sure you include proof of everything that you've done to get the clearances and write them a letter explaining that you haven't been able to get them.

I wouldn't want to count on it, but there have been cases of people getting the need for a clearance waived after they've shown proof they've made every effort to get a clearance and have been unable to.

Have you tried calling the hotline in Canada to get advice?

I think the animosity was directed at one person that was trying to get the visa immediately because of the typhoon but then wait until april or may to have her child come to canada because of them graduating and/or being valedictorian. It kind of abused the generosity of the canadian government and affects those that really are affected by the typhoon.

It's worse than that, there are people actually complaining that it's unfair they are processing Yolanda victims instead of doing apps in order.

This attitude (expletive deleted) disgusts me that they would say stuff like that. Part of what makes me proud to be a Canadian is that we help those in need. It seems the people complaining have no concept of that, a sad day for Canada when they are let in the country.

Wella are you in the Philippines or in Canada?

If you've been trying the Chinese embassy in the Philippines maybe have your spouse or family member contact the one in Canada you might have more luck. I got a lot more help when i contacted the Singapore embassy in Canada than i did trying to talk to the one in Manila.

Can you contact the bureau in China responsible for the PC's and ask them to send you a letter denying you a PC? Then send that to CEM.

Hello all, am new to forums. Applied under Family sponsorship in August28. Right to sponsor approved September13, forwarded to VISA Ofiice Manila. Check CIC Website regularly still shows application received. No updates since September. Is this the norm?

Thanks for any info.

Mine stayed at application received right until about a week before we got the visa when it went to in progress or something like that. Updating of e-cas can be pretty flaky depending on the VO.

Thanks DaveSav. Congrats. Your total processing time was 9 months? I'm hoping for quick processing too, but with PASAG strike not holding my breath. Has to be a huge back-log of applications.
Time will tell, Thanks Again.
