once you get your pr card here in canada you can just show it before paying travel tax and youd get a big discount

Yeah sis, I just emailed CEM earlier informing that husband's medical expired today and asked whether he would need a remedical or would they do medical extension as posted in CIC bulletin. I know CEM doesn't do extension, but I asked anyway. Hopefully they give out remedical form so we can do it while waiting for final review.

Kind of scared they might put apps with expired medical on the bottom pile. ??? ???

sigh. let's hope and pray it won't happen since that's all we can do.....see, we got a movement this week (a fast one). let's all pray harder.

well they have apps with remeds renewed on the bottom of the pile,,,,if this keeps up I will have to do a 2nd remed,,,,they wont even reply to my emails and tell me a reason

That is very unfortunate I really hope they give you your Visa soon, still don't understand what they have been doing to your application.

I'm hoping to hear that Dan also gets communication with CEM because his medicals expired and some people who applied after him are being rushed to fly, so unfair.

asked my hubby to call his mp for a possible medical validity extension coz mine will soon expire this coming 7 and i already sent my passport last august 23 and this is what he said to me, i mean the link..

It's bugging me how they kind of neglect the ones whose meds expired and expedite the ones who are already about to expire. :'( :'( :'(
esp that you've applied before them.

Looking at the timeline, I am still on track, but I feel really disappointed on how they don't communicate and reply to your inquiries. ???

This is a big part of the problem, these damned timelines. SO i have been quick to share Scos's spread sheet, and remind them of their own line "all applications are processed in the order they are received" When you can't even get a reply, and people months after you are getting through, you know that is not the case.

Now with the strike on, I have been cutting some amount of slack, but I am about to restart the email hate train again. After the first meeting, with the MP, I was told exactly what the disposition of our application was, which was confirmed a couple of weeks later via GCMS notes. I was also asked to recontact the MP's office if there is no update by about the one year mark. Fair enough, that is still within "time lines". But I will be pushing back at the 12 month mark, even though it says 14 now, I am not going to sit on my heels and wait for them to raise it to, 16 because of the strike, I paid for 12 months, seems reasonable to me, 12 months is expect-able by me, my cash was fine with them twelve months ago.

I expect to do a lot of pis*ing in the wind, but I do plan on being a pain in someones ass, if I am miserable then they can be miserable too

The MP's office was helpful, but given it was early in the full blown strike, I received pretty much what I expected for an answer. And the strike it's self kind of put me in a odd mental state, being a "Trade Unionist" (very involved in my local - on the Exec, Bargaining committee, other committees, Steward) I am sure not to paint any PAFSO members, because I do agree and side with them. But as far as the bozo's in charge it is open season. What are they going to do, take away my birthday?

don't worry about that ive been over the standard time for so long and they still will not reply to my emails

you are at 12 months and expect action lol,,,,wait until your 2nd anniversary is coming around mine is sept 2,,,,still no one sleeping with me at nites,,,and every day im watching others being rushed off to buy a flight to Canada and they applied 6,7,8 months ago,,,oh yes they are quota 80%
