Anyone know how much health insurance will cost to cover these months?..

I got Blue Cross for about $350. That included a few extra days in case of any problems activating OHIP coverage.

I bought hastily online at safevisit.ca . I have no idea how reputable they are. Just there was no phone call from an insurance agent and I was able to do it completely online. It was as low as $80 for 2 months.

Sweden had previously recommended getting insurance through worldnomads

The catch there is that you have to buy it before she leaves the Philippines.

Depends on the coverage you want. The Blue Cross plan looked pretty good. And it would also cover her if we decided to pop across the border for shopping (not all plans do that).

My health benefits at work cover me abroad so I am very lucky that I don't have to purchase anything extra.

So my wife and I have finalized the day we will leave Japan and head back to Canada. September 10th. Her visa isn't issued yet but we already sent in the Appendix A form so she will be "visiting" me until she gets her visa. My question is in regards to where the COPR will be sent. If I change her address to mine in Canada will they send it to Canada or will they send it to the address in Japan (the one on Appendix A)? Or should we use her mother's address in Japan?

With my luck they will send it on September 10th when we are on the flight and then we will have to scramble to get it to Canada. :P

Steph!!! No more wrap up updates?? So far only 2 visa was released this week?? Meoh and vinta ?? Happy to know that ppr are moving fast but the visa moves like turtle

Steph C, I for one, appreciate the discussion here on your "Tread", about the trials and tribulations of landing as most of us will be enduring it at some point. It's valuable info whether it pertains to us immediately or off in the future.

Hey Tagum, you can can and pickle her veg, or freeze them. I wouldn't shut up to Moose about how good the corn is here, he was reluctant to try it, now he won't shut up about how good the corn is here, I am so proud. I even learned how to make Mais Con Yellow, something I would never touch in the Philippines for fear of Montezuma's revenge
I DONT KNOW WHAT MONTEZUMAS REVENGE IS,,,,,BUT I DO KNOW THE CORN IN CANADA IS 5 TIMES BETTER THAN PHILIPINO COW CORN,,,,,,,,I HAVE 1 CORN PLANT WITH ABOUT 8 CORN ON THE COB ON IT,,,I KNOW IT WONT MAKE IT PAST SEPT 17
