I know right.. and even weirder is the visa doesn't have a photo on it. We sent photos to be sure. But then when he got his visa he was wondering why no photo? So confusing.

i have one too, the appendix B? on the letter tho, they only asked for appendix a. i sent 2 pics, the same as what others did.
