TB is a growing threat. I don't want to be exposed to it.. Canada has worked hard to nearly eradicate it. Remember the day when TB sanatoriums were full of people? There were people who spent years in those. Of couse now we have antibiotics which help ::) 66% of all reported TB cases in Canada (2010) were from foreign born individuals (and 21% in Aboriginal populations mostly up north) I think they should re-examine people for it after a year, for sure.

My Dad's mother died of TB in 1931. Back in those days they barely understood the illness. Today if that is their concern then the applicants get TB tested seperately from the medical prior to getting their visa. Simple.

1500 reported cases in Canada 2010. Hardly an epidemic.

Hi guys,

I was just looking to see when I last requested GCMS notes and I noticed it said this:

Thank you for contacting the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Division at the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

This email is to confirm receipt of your inquiry.

Please note that you will only receive a response from the ATIP-AIPRP mailbox if your inquiry is in regards to an Access to Information request, a Privacy request, or an ATIP-related matter.

If you are seeking information on citizenship or immigration programs, please contact the CIC National Call Center at 1-888-242-2100 or visit the CIC website: www.cic.gc.ca<http://www.cic.gc.ca>.

Please note that starting May 13, 2013, we will no longer accept ATIP requests submitted by fax or e-mail.

So best to get your email inquiries in before that date! If we can't email or fax the requests, it probably means our spouses will actually have to mail us a copy of their signed consent form.. that's inconvenient. Unless you appointed yourself as a representative. Wish I had thought of that earlier.

I have been waiting 3 weeks for my notes.

My MP's office has finally responded to my initial email. He only parrotted the policy and didn't answer my question why CIC is telling people they can extend the medical up to a year without mentioning the additional requirements.

Me too.. they have one more week to send it to me :P :P :P

I think my order is 2 weeks old now so a couple more to go. I guess they made ordering the notes too easy and many people were doing it. This should slow things down for them.

When you contacted your MP, did you email, phone or email on your initial contact? I am thinking it is time to find out if they even have my application or if it wandered off into CIC's black hole.

I initially made contact with my MP through email but response was too slow so I went in person and explained the situation. A day later I was informed that my application was missing documents and passport pics.
I now go through email because when I get the feeling I'm being stonewalled I can be a real azzzhole (I know that comes as a shock to many of you). I'm a big guy and fairly ugly which when ired can come across as itimidating. Not the impression that I want to give. I know my MP prefers that as well...... ;D ;D

I think I'll do the same. Going in person should get all the identity stuff out of the way whereas with email I could be anyone. I just hope my MP is more willing to help a constituent than maintain the party line that all is well with the system (he's PC).

Me too. I just checked it. Nothing. However I did get an email address of the Medical department in CEM (sorry if I'm repeating myself here). The DMP said I could email that address 2 weeks after the medical was completed to confirm they have it. I can't wait ::)

Awesome info Steph!

Sorry if I'm repeating myself... Haha, but what was that email?

Oh ya... And was your medical emedical?
