Maybe somebody can help me with this. My wife already took the seminar from CFO, has her certificate etc. etc. With her Visa she got today, there is a Canadian program available for new immigrants coming from the Philippines to Canada called CIIP (Canadian Immigration Integration Program). Does she have to do this before she is allowed to board her flight? Her flight is next Wednesday.
Is this seminar mandatory? Thanks

Unless she was told by the Canadian visa office that this new program is mandatory, you do not need to worry. Personally, need heard of this "new" program. My wife took the same CFO program that your wife took part off.

CIIP is for caregiver only the COA is for permanent resident.. Congrats on your visa.. i think no need for COA... but It would be a help for other information about canada.

My wife called them and found out its not mandatory, she got the CFO sticker, flight is booked, she'll be here in Toronto next Wednesday the 25th of June. Finally!!!!!

Yes, her medical was July 4th. I was quite surprised how quickly it moved from inprocess to decision made. It didnt' take long after that and she came into work and found her package from CEM on her desk, she opened it up and "voila" there was her Visa. Now, she's going to visit some family this weekend, finish packing and fly here next Wednesday.

It didnt' take long after that and she came into work and found her package from CEM on her desk, she opened it up and "voila" there was her Visa. Now, she's going to visit some family this weekend, finish packing and fly here next Wednesday.

Thanks Step, she's on cloud 9 right now, she's packing more stuff, lord knows how much she's bringing but I'll find out soon enough.

Got this e-mail this morning. The date they received the application listed in the e-mail is over 2 months old now though. Does this mean they simply got it or that they've started to process my application to sponsor?
