Thank Tagum-NB

I just received this email from a EPSB - Director.

"Good Morning,

The principal of your neighbourhood school will be able to assist you when you arrive. Do you have an address that you will be living at? Typically, the children will continue with the current grade they are enrolled in at the start of the year. You will need the children's PR cards and proof of address at the time of registration.

Sincerely,"

with this in mind, we decided to land earlier. So Edmonton it is in the end of November, first me direct from Bahrain. then my husband will go home (Phil) then take them with him MNL-CA end of the year.

THanks for the answer too. regards
That's the worrisome part, you had better explain to them that PR cards take about 3 months to arrive in the mail.

I guess they can use COPR as proof of landing and PR while waiting for the card to arrive?

Quiet times around here.. Hope to see some more action for you guys next week!

Yup, it's rather quiet here. Visas are being issued on the Tagalog thread, so it's a good sign, yeah?

congratulations, heartglee! My husband is a november applicant too. When did u get your ppr? we still don't have any update from them, his meds had already expired in August

Hi RM15, I got my PPR around end of June. If you haven't done yet, it's best to send them an email about your case. You can reply to the email where they sent the PPR.

Thanks to all for your congrats!

Have been thinking the same thing...there's activity at least...and seems plenty of it....I wish I could read Tagalog :)

Question.....please....when a ppr happens....is it normal to have to submit within 45 days or is that my imagination? I see from some peoples timelines that they hold passports for eons without cause...IF a request is made by CEM...and my wife needed her passport could the submission be delayed or does that delay processing even MORE ! Probably huh! :(

Is it normally a 45 day timeline to give up passports?

Well they have been holding my wifes since June 5th, so we are closing in on the 5 fooooooking month mark of that. So I will say, in some cases it is safe to say, they sometimes hold the passports longer than 45 days :)

For my family, LVO asked to submit within 30days. came back to us with in 3 weeks.

One forum member actually requested that he keep his passport until it was needed for visa issuance and they seemed to be fine with that. It was a ballsy move but I think it worked for them. Can't remember the user name but it was on this thread some time in the summer.

Dan thats crazyyy....what I'm wondering is how long do WE have to give them the passport if we ever do get a request for it...so what IF she needed it for travel or work? She's SOL?? RIDICULOUS that they can ask for it and not use it..

Thanks....I kind of think CEM works to the beat of its own drummer...ie...they operate outside the normal procedures...Im getting that impression...but 30 days in your case...thank you!

I kinda think I remember reading that...Ill scan through I guess and PM the poster if I can find that Ms.Steph...

my husband was saying, "do they want us disqualified because of technicality/failure to submit in that short notice?" :) just saying. 45days is ample time eh.

Hello Everyone.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive. It looks like I'm in the same position as a lot of you here. My wife's (Japanese) application was submitted on 9/24/12 and I was approved as a sponsor on 11/5/12. Manila received the application on Nov 19. The processing time on this date was 9 months!
Now I see our medicals have expired as well (completed Sept 7, 2012). I have not had any communication from them since May 15 when they requested a certificate from me. My application still says "application received" and I'm really reaching the end of my patience with CIC. Between the PAFSO strike and the total lack of information and accountability from CIC, I am beyond fed up!

I'm not sure if I should write them or wait a little longer. Should I go ahead and get a new medical or hope they will accept the expired one? I am fully prepared to go see my MP (too bad it's not Harper - I live in Calgary). I am also going to be in Manila on business at the end of November. I feel like showing up at the embassy and demanding to speak to a consular officer.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!!
