That's weird. We got her SIN then brought that and her passport to open her account. We used TD. She applied for a credit card to build her credit and we find out tomorrow. Everything is going smoothly...but we haven't changed her driver's license or applied for a health card yet so I'm thinking that's where the hell begins.

Hi Hucards, I guess you live in Ontario (peace bridge crossing, etc). There's a 3 month residency period for the OHIP. This was in effect early this year when my bestfriend's sister's husband landed.

My wife officially landed today at the Peace Bridge. No problems. Monday is SIN and bank account day.

On a side note. My wife was surprised at the vast difference in countries encountered by just crossing a bridge. It didn't help that one of the stops was a Wal Mart in a run down part of Buffalo

Find out how to submit your temporary resident or permanent resident travel document application through the VACs in Tokyo or Seoul. Visit the CIC website for more information on VACs.

VACs in the Philippines: Applications that were submitted to the PIASI VAC continue to be processed – there is NO NEED to contact the visa office. The Canadian Embassy will be in contact with you and will return your passport."

STILL waiting for April PPR... I've heard of only two so far that have them...

Yes, that was me. And miraculously after that second set of X-rays, and the second opinion from her local hospital, and taking it to my MP, the second round of X-rays and such from the quack in Baguio, are miraculously acceptable! Go figure. Jerk offs.

Oh well it is only money, been bleeding it for the last couple of years now, what is another pocket or two full of it now. Wife's application is supposed to be up for yet another damned review on the 16th, we will see what comes at that. Props to my MP's office, they have been very proactive in following things up for us.

Question for you please...the 16th isnt a random number...I've read about what I'm guessing are 45 day cycles when they "review" files?

Any ideas when that 45 day cycle starts? Request dates maybe? Thanks!

I think its just the name of the "Third Party" rep that does work for CEM..

how much did your wife paid for her remedical in Baguio? i just received my remedical form today and im planning to get it done next week in Baguio.. hoping i won't be scammed too! im asked to have an xray and lab test

Just got my GCMS notes today- 29 days after filing.

So looking at it, it seems like they see our application as "straightforward". They've already done an initial review to it, and it states there that interview may be waived. They also got my passport (good thing) coz I haven't heard from them since I got a PPR.
All my correspondence email were quoted in the notes and they just say "No reply needed".

Other than that, I don't really know how to interpret the 29 pages of that PDF.

Anyone knows where to find their deadline of giving out the remedical form? They knew that my meds expired in August but I haven't really heard from them, or haven't found anything that states when they are planning to send it out.

SO hopefully, there is no more fooking around with second rate excuses for delays, I swear to god I will blow if there is.

Great to hear that your remedicals were forwarded quickly to CEM.
About your bring forward date, did you find it in the GCMS notes? If so, where was it stated?

I really hope your wife gets the Visa soon. They have no more excuse to delay it!!

The bring forward dates, I have only been able to get through the MP's office, apparently they can get that info, but us mere mortals would not be able to comprehend it, unless it was filtered first for us.

Btw, the MP's constituent has been really helpful in getting a follow up for our application. We exchanged couple of emails, however, her information are not helpful at all!!!

She said that CEM just got my application this August (She was probably talking about the passport) and that there is 14 months processing time, meaning mine will not be up until October 2014. I'm like :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

I don't even think she knows what she's talking about. If I weren't part of this forum, I would've panicked to hear that October 2014 thing

I hope you and your wife get your visa situations sorted out and done soon as well, this process is a total joke, and there is no reason for anyone being stuck in it for more than a few weeks to get this paper work done, all it does it highlight how in-efficient government communications are.

Yes, you are correct, this forum is invaluable, I am just about to write my MP's office again about our next bring forward date, and let them know, that is nothing comes from the 16th then it is all bets off, because we will then be just a week short of a year of screwing around with them, and that was the time line I was quoted, 12 months. And now having seen people from March of this year get through the process, I am not going to settled for being re-shuffled back to the bottom of some damned pile to wait again.

I have looked through the notes, and found nothing wrong or missing, everything checks out, they where just waiting on the new medicals, which they have in their possession, strike is over, so there is no excuses now.

Anymore delays after the 16th, are going to put us outside the one year mark, so I have full right to piss and moan, as one year was what I was told when I paid my money, and they gladly cashed the cheque on that one.
