Hi Seniors Manila Thread,

do we have to go POEA for PDOS or any Philippine government agency papers before flight? is it true that travel agents offer discounted tickets for immigrants?

thanks

Hello, yes you have to attend PDOS before the flight. It's a required seminar else Philippine immigration won't let you through. A sticker will be attached to your passport indicating that you have attended it. It's a half day thing from what I read and there is a fee for it. You have to be there early because slots are limited and it's on a first come first serve basis. Here's the site where it says everything:

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/pre_departure-pre_depart.aspx

As for your discounted ticket .... here's the website of St. Raphael travel and tours ... it says one way fares for first time immigrants ... I'm not sure if there are other travel agencies offering better/discounted rates:

Hope this helps :)
