Yeah I saw this post but was unsure of a couple of things...

He mentioned that they requested the passport back and then later said "We are currently living together in China." Which would seem that they got passport back and are now living in china...

Hi guys,

To clarify, we requested my wife's passport be returned until it was actually needed for the PRV issuance. She was staying in Phils because we had a very foolish thought that if her passport is requested, the visa issuance must be near. That was before I started reading this board. So basically, we could have been living together in China, but the Canadian embassy was holding her passport hostage and she couldn't leave Phils. So, we got sick of waiting for 5 months of forced separation and sent an email to request her passport back until they actually needed it. The embassy replied "no problem" and they will request it again later when they actually need it. So, her passport was returned, she is now with me in China and we are still waiting for the PRV. We intend to live in Canada, I am just not sure when because this process has dragged out for so long. I just took the job in China so we could be guaranteed to be together while we wait.

Hello ... congratulations on your ppr ... before the PAFSO strike happened it was 4 to 6 weeks before they return your passport but now that the strike is still in effect it's taking them 3 to 4 months to return it. I got a hunch that since a lot of tourist wanted to go to Canada for a vacation and a lot of students needed their visas issued before school started, they prioritized these first and kept silent from issuing PR visas from July to August. Recently though (just last week) a lot of people got their visas issued so we'll see how things go about from here.

I just received my COPR today!!!!!

I found out that DM just yesterday and today... I have my COPR in my hand!!!!

2012.07.15 My initial medical done
2012.11.28　Mississauga received my application
2013.02.25　Sponsor approval
2013.03.15　e-Cas indicates ”Medical has been recieved"
2013.04.25 e-Cas "In process" indicating they started processing my application on April 23
2013.06.10 I sent the 1st follow up email
2013.06.12 Reply from FRU saying that it's under review
2013.07.18 I sent the 2nd follow up email
2013.07.18 Received two emails regarding the request of medical exam and additional document
2013.07.23 The additional document received/did my second medical
2013.08.12 Sent the follow up email again
2013.08.12 Reply from FRU saying that it's queued for few reviews including medical and background.
2013.08.28 Sent the follow up email again
2013.08.28 Reply from FRU

2013.09.02 Checked eCas and saw "DECISION MADE" !!!

Ok cool. I haven't finished filling out the online qs so that's probably why i haven't seen that part for payment. thanks marcjd!

then after that .. you have to do something again i think .. they got a newer system but it aint fully functional ..

you have to fill out imm 5563 and imm 5744 (to be signed by the applicant ) and you .. then scan a valid id .. + reciept of payment send it on email .. at

ATIP-AIPRP @ cic.gc.ca that would back up your online application .. just put on the header the temporary tracking number of confirmation that they received the online app ..

i really hate it when they change their procedures and its more crappy than the old one .. but we cant do nothing about it because they will only say we're working on improving the new system .. but this online one is more efficient than sending them your application thru mail..
