Have you guys looked at the open data site ... Pr apps for Manila was 37,000 in 2010, 19,000 in 2011, 11,000 in 2012. This is for all pr apps. Interesting that the wait times has increased too. (Over the last year)

I think I searched "permanent resident by mission" ... It was near the top. The figures are pretty interesting.

In 2010 they were able to process applications in 6 months. They also hadn't closed other visa offices yet.

Poor Tagum, gorts wife will be landing tomorrow. Tagum will have no one to entertain him.

Hello guys!:) my application got in process just today after 1yr and 5 days...

Congratulations!! I think the rest of this process will move quickly for those that have gone "In Process". The strike action will have more affect on those that have just applied. CIC has posted a comment about the strike action and that their posted processing times may not reflect the impact that those strike actions will have.
I feel very bad for those just submitting their apps now. If I was still in the middle of this I would be drafting a request for a TRV under H&C due to the Government's intentional attempt to avoid negotiations with the FSW's.

Your right, I do feel bad for the people applying today. 14 months or longer is just not acceptable. One way to look at it is that they at least know the wait time is long, and can prepare mentally for it. For people like us, and especially you, who started this with a posted time line of 7 months and watched it double in length, it has been very stressful. It sucks for all, but I am one of the ones who rather know the bad news up front and not get discouraged every three months when they post the new time lines.

Tell me about it, When I looked last time before filling out the forms it was 8 or 9 months I believe, now it is 14. Which is just garbage. You need to get documents done before applying (i.e. med, police cert, etc ) and some of them are only good for a year.

right....that's why I was so pissed when I was talking to CIC. They made my wife do an ultrasound and she was 3 months pregnant. When I found out I was ready to kill someone. They claimed they put two lead vest over her stomach. When my wife asked what happened if my wife refused to do the x-ray, they said she would need to wait until the baby was born and do it then before we applied. Now, if they take too long, the medical would be worthless anyways.

All i can so is Wait wait and wait! im guessing they will respond to my May application sometime in OCTOBER or NOVEMBER IF I GET LUCKY!

Damn this sucks! my wife just admitted that she cries cause she misses me!

I know this does... Best thing she can do is keep busy. I have been telling my wife to do stuff all the time. Sitting at home doing nothing will make it worse and the time will pass slowly.
