Trust me Hong Kong is a dream compared to Japan. At lest they speak English in Hong Kong

For me, Cathay is the only way. I've flown them now 10 round trips no issues.

1 time I flew Delta because Cathay had no flights and it was last minute...way too many stops/layovers took 31hrs

flew Air Canada 3 times, and all three times the flights were delayed. Once I even had a 12 hour layover in Japan because of the strike they were on at the time.

I agree, I love Cathay. Service is good, never had issues with flights, food is good (for airplane food) and lots of movies and entertainment. The only annoying part is the stop in HK but that is their hub so what are you gonna do?

Yeah, had a pretty long jaunt there too. BUT! They have the nicest washrooms of any airport!

No question there. Japan has the best washrooms then anyone. Its nice to visit a country who has their priorities in order.

For those who had gone thru remedical , does Ecas change to medical has be receive twice s after remedical ?

I had medical has been received since my first medical,after remedical it did not change n it is 4weeks now.

Your Ecas will state medical received until that medical expires then it is removed. Once you complete the remed it should be posted again. It may not be updated regularly so don't rely on it.

My VO is so messed up. I was sent an email 6month ago to pick up my Visa but we never received the email and they never sent a reminder at it. My medical expired March and they never requested another,while Ecas remain the same. I sent them an email last month,that was how I knew my visa was ready but becos medical already expired I had to redo a chest X-ray. It has been 4weeks again no news from them and no change on Ecas,what do I do ? Wife is pregnant and placed on a complete bed rest. I just which I could do something,I need to go support my wife. Please somebody help.

Your wife would need to contact her MP (Member of Parliament) to ask them to expedite your visa. You have already been approved so I can't see a problem.

Really? The bathroom I saw had a hole in the ground...no toilet! lol. What I like about Hong Kong is it's only 1 1/2 hrs to Manila, so you start to feel pretty excited when boarding the last leg of your trip.

Also with Cathay I noticed they treat your luggage better then most. Overall, I am very impressed with Cathay, I wish they had North America routes so I could keep using them and cash in on my Asia Miles for Vegas!

I am just reading over what people were requested when they got their Passport request. Most are being asked for AOM's....my wife was not asked for that, but instead they asked for a NBI. Has anyone else been requested an NBI?

NBI is her police clearance. All our Filipino spouses would have submitted one of those.

The one I "experienced" was a nice one. Automatic doors so you don't need to touch them. Everything automatic in fact. The stalls were in a separate area and they were wood panelled, floor to ceiling (very private), and incredibly clean. It was in what looked like a new section of the airport. What I didn't like was the long tunnel to get there.

I think a lot of people sent the NSO marriage certificate and thought that was all that was required. But an AOM/Cenomar was also required. We submitted the Cenomar from when we got married and were not asked for an AOM when we got the PPR. So either seems to be acceptable. As for the NBI, it has to be no older than 3 months when your application is received by CIC, so even though it may still be valid (within the year of issue) it may be too old if you waited too long to submit the app after getting it.
