I thought I heard that they lowered the airport fee. The government websites are so bad. They even have broken links. Imagine all the web design talent in their country that they don't even utilize.

Found a post from 2009 where it was 2170 for exit fee but that they thought it went up. Still looking...

I think you're right about the 550.. Philippine Airlines confirms it, too. I remember it being 750 in the past, I think they reduced it and made a big deal out of it.

I mean 750 is ridiculous, it's almost $20 - what airport in the world would charge that much, and NAIA isn't exactly the best airport in the world so it's not like the money is going back into it. Some terminals are quite nice and some are glorified holding pens with hardly any edible food or wifi and no money exchange or visa card accepted.

Yeah, I see the 550 quoted a lot. It is the 1620 I am trying to confirm 100% now.

Philippine Airlines quotes the same amount. However I think it's a sliding scale based on Business Class or Economy.

I seem to remember having to fork out almost 3,000 pesos when we went to Hong Kong - it seemed like way too much. Maybe they reduced it as well. It's horrible that they charge their citizens tax to travel.

If your guy is coming via a domestic flight and leaving international he may end up with 750 in airport taxes after all (200 domestic, 550 international).

And on the Cathay Pacific site http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_CA/atairport/airportdetails?cityCode=MNL they have for the travel tax 1620 for economy/business and 2700 for first class.

So at least 2170, maybe as much as 2370.
