I understand why a PR has a faster timeline, there is a lot less break ups in the end, most of them had a true relationship b4 the new found wealth. Too all of you who are bringing back (mail order brides) spouses foreign to you, some of you i know, i think how strong is thier relationship, i had that powerfull relationship and now i know my eyes were wide shut (mail order hubbies) for you steph

Well, I didn't marry a "mail order bride". I've known my wife for almost 10 years now. We were friends for years before we "got involved". She had broken up with her bf and I had broken up with my gf and we figured, "hey, we should get together...".

Even when we did meet up we didn't intend on it getting serious. But eventually it did. Another important thing is she has never lied to me nor has she ever asked me for anything. She used to tell me how all her friends would tell her she should ask me to send her money and things but she never did.

I can say if I were in your situation and found out about 5 kids that would put a damper on things right away. Trust is very important to me and that would just blow it.

I would ask the people who say this who exactly "them" are (is?). To judge every Filipina by the actions of one that you know is incredibly unfair. There are good and bad people everywhere. The better question is "do you feel sure that THIS woman is the one to make you happy?". If your answer is yes then that should be all.

Now you just have to get her here. I hope it isn't much longer for you but there are a lot of issues to deal with. Again that is where I think a lawyer would be a good idea at this point; if even for a single consultation.

Absolutely agree.. My wife thought all Canadians were obnoxious people.. because the couple that she had met before were like that. Then she met me... And i confirmed it ... HAHA.. i tried to tell her that they were probably Americans pretending to be Canadians

MP is getting serious....embassy called wifey and asked how she'd like her package?
Due to long weekend, she said DHL, overnight rush.
They then emailed her tracking waybill number.

BUT.....we've been checking wwwexpress tracking, and no activity on that waybill number.....so if it didn't go Friday...then....

Anyway...I can't stress enough how important it is to have a tracking number....or even a call from embassy asking how you'd like....I mean, most of us are stopping through Manila anyway.

I guess we could have written a letter during passport request.....but still, with no acknowledgements....it's just horrible.

Now......because embassy sends collect....we're betting that we'll be charged for the 'F' up as well....haha, lets see!!

YOU MUST KNOW MY ANSWER TO THAT, I KNEW HOW COMPLICATED THIS COULD GET WHEN I STARTED. OH MY EYES ARE OPEN, MY EARS ARE OPEN, I LISTEN AND JUDGE WHAT EVERYONE SAYS (EXCEPT GARGAMEL) THERE IS A LOT MORE CASES LIKE MINE, DONT SAY 1 FILIPINA, THERE ARE MANY MEN AND WOMEN IN CANADA WHO HAVE STORIES LIKE MINE, AND YES TOO THIER ARE PHILIPINOS GETTING HERE WHO HAVE TERRIBLE STORIES TO TELL

Yep...But I purchased cancel and flight insurance...so it should be ok. I admit it wasn't the best decision, but when flights are increasing in price by the hour, and then are becoming unavailable really quickly, and we've been waiting, waiting, waiting.....I think most of you understand how we came to that decision.

Just re-booked for Tuesday.....rolling the dice on that one, during checkout on 3 websites, they all went up couple hundred, so I said, lock it in now! haha

Also, when anyone gets decision made, I'd call Customer service for wwwexpress to alert the package will be in transit soon.

Give them package name addressed too, and I would....strongly.....strongly....suggest asking them to open your package to verify contents....I trust DHL more than Embassy, and apparently, according to DHL manager, this is a regular occurrence with documents from the embassy.
