I thought so too. But they mentioned our file number which we don't know. So I guess they had to look on our file too using the info I gave them. 2nd and 3rd paragraph was a copy-paste thing, that I am sure, I worked in customer service before.

HOW DO YOU KNOW ITS YOUR FILE NUMBER NOW IF YOU DIDNT KNOW B4, WE MAILED THEM OUR AOM WITHOUT A FILE# AND THEY THREW IT IN THE TRASH CAN AND WE WAITED 10 MONTHS B4 WE KNEW THEY DIDNT HAVE OUR AOM

I thought I'd share this. I sent an email to CEM yesterday morning using that email [RE-MANIL.IMMIGRATION @ international.gc.ca], and surprisingly, they did respond late afternoon yesterday.

Since my husband didn't receive any letter/email for his SA, I was getting worried about not receiving the PPR either now that a lot from Sept and Oct applicants are getting theirs already. So I sent them an email, I gave them my phone number and ask them to ensure that they have our correct email address too. I do not know my file number btw. When my husband called CIC, they didn't give it to him either. So I just included our names, dob, address and my husband's UCI.

Here's what I got from them:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We received your email regarding file number Fxxxxxxxx on 14 May 2013. We note that the file was received on 25 September 2012.

If you have sent us this email to report important changes regarding your application, we will add this information to your file. This email serves as your confirmation of receipt for these documents. Please be assured that this information will be brought to the attention of the appropriate authority.

We note that this file is currently within processing standards. We do not respond to status enquiries if the application is within normal processing times.

I thought I just got a generic auto response from them, but then I realized, they put our file number on their response, as well as the app received date. I did not ask them anything about the status of our application, and so I kinda felt relieved knowing that they did have our file and probably checked on it too as they mentioned about our application being still within the turnaround time. I just hope that they'd notice that I should be due for a PPR anytime soon too

Translated into normal English...

"Yeah yeah, we got it! Go away!"

LOL. Normal processing times...they keep increasing it. What is normal about waiting a tear to process and application that can be done in an afternoon?
There policy is 6 months. Anything longer than that is too long. Screw their processing times.

Its not 6 months. Didn't you hear Kenney? He says it is 1 year. The fact he isn't even meeting that is of course besides the point... 8)

They keyed in your name and date of birth, and when the file number popped up, they clicked option "Send reponse type 2". ;D

I CANT UNDERSTAND THAT THEY TOOK THE TIME TO FIND THE FILE # AND TO RESPOND FOR WHAT THEY DID TO US THEY DIDNT EVEN PUT RETURN TO SENDER

They keyed in your name and date of birth, and when the file number popped up, they clicked option "Send reponse type 2". ;D

If you accuse them of doing something insane, (like I accused them of asking for our email passwords) the personal reply will be instant!

It only LOOKS personal. I'll bet they have a handful of canned inquiry responses, one or two canned status responses, and 1,485,284 crazy-stuff-they've-done responses. ;D
