mandamus

Does anyone have experience with mandamus？How much does it cost? How long does the process take? I am from 2019 applicant group, waiting for 2.5years, thinking of mandamus (Tried atip notes, MP, webform...etc already).

I am also same boat. Work permit extension applied indland in Aug. 2019 still waiting.

If it goes to that point yes,it will cost up to 10k but, often with the initial threat, they start processing applications quickly and never leads to the point.

I found MPs to be also helpful. I am not sure if its a coincidence or not but it seems when an MP asks about an application, they resume working on it and make an update

Yes I found an immigration lawyer. We wrote letters to CSIS and Case management branch but only got general reply. She thinks rather than waiting, a mandamus is what I have to do anyways

I filed for Mandamus March 2021. The cost depends on the lawyer you get but its pricey. I went all the way to tier 3 but the application was refused before a judge made a decision.

If this is for parent sponsorship where processing times are listed as 20-24+ months the processing time hasn’t been exceeded by much.
