Hi

Has anyone got Malaysian PCC while living outside of malaysia? Can you share the process and timelines please?

IRCC site says that we need to contact the nearest malaysian embassy. Is there anything else that we should know?

I was a student in malaysia for like a year and a half but currently living in India and i need to get PCC from Malaysia as well.

Thanks

Hi,
My case is almost same as yours. As per the statement in IRCC (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/malaysia.asp):

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?

Yes, but only after you submit your application. When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.”

We will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information.

We will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

I have accordingly applied for e-APR without a Malaysian PCC. Later, while browsing through the Malaysian website, I figured out that a Certificate of Good Conduct from Malaysia must be applied through their website (https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/en/) which I accordingly did and they approved my application in a week. Later I contacted the Malaysian embassy in Bangladesh, submitted my passport copies with travel dates and they said that my Certificate will be ready in a week time. I will probably collect it today.

Thanks,

Hi, did you get your ITA approved and got the PR without getting IRCC letter? I got my ITA 30th Jan, 2019 and am confused whether I should follow the CIC website suggestion or get the CGC via online as everyone is doing. My main concern is whether IRCC approves of CGC without their letter and if I do wait as per their website, will it be a huge problem.

Any help on this matter will be awesome. thanks

My husband who is living in Sri Lanka was requested to provide Malaysia police certificate today. He was a worker in malaysia for only 6 months in 2011. He is now back in Sri Lanka. From what I’m read online, Malaysian police certificates are only given if you lived there for one year or more. It says that if you are requested for a police certificate and you lived there less than one year, then we must write “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Malaysia because certificates are only available to people who have lived in Malaysia for one year or more.” My question is do we just simply write this to IRCC or do we still have to apply for police clearance in Malaysia andreceive a letter from them that they can’t provide a police certificate for him? Please help

Hey Rajat, I actually applied for PCC on their website and got it within 3 weeks. I uploaded it on CIC website and explained it on LOE that I have provided it even though IRCC website says that we don't have to. So far I haven't received rejection yet. AOR 2nd Nov 2020

Ok thanks for quick reply, I am going to apply without it and mentioned it in LOE that as per ircc guidelines we need not to provide if we stayed less than a year. And on Malaysian web site as well they have mentioned same that non malaysian( lived 1 yr or beyond) can apply for pcc.

Hope for best. If they need they can send adr I guess. I hope they won't require it. And going to upload the word document fintain screen shot if otcc and Malaysian web site where they said no need to get pcc if stayed less than a year.

Praying for best
