Maintained status while waiting for work permit?

Hi!
I recently send an application for an open work permit (Aug 2021) as the spouse of a skilled worker with a closed work permit and my current status (visitor) ends on December 30.
My question is Do I have an implied (maintained) status while I wait for the answer of my OWP application? Or do I need to make another extension? My husband is not a Canadian citizen either and we're applying together for the permanent residence trough the PEQ, but we need to wait for our CSQs to arrive

Hello, my husband has a PR in Canada.
We already applied inland sponsorship in september 2022, received the AOR, passed the medical and waiting....
I had also applied the spouse open work permit SOWP when i received the AOR and waiting...
My question is. I am staying in canada since july 2022 and it will be 6 months in december, my multiple entry visa expires in 2024.
Can I stay as maintained status since we are waiting for sowp????
I dont want to be out of status in december so i dont know if i need to extend my stay as visitor or it is done automatically when i applied sowp.
Please help clarify.

Technically you have implied status when you apply for OWP. If your application is incomplete then that would be an issue. If you don’t get AOR for the OWP by December when your 6 month stay is up I would suggest applying to extend your stay to be 100% sure you keep your status but technically no need. If you get AOR for OWP no issue.
