My Dear friends and fellow members,
Good day to all of you. Hope all of you are doing well in your lives, application and settlements in Canada. My journey of Landing and living for one month in Canada was very smooth Alhamdulillah. I landed on 1st May, 2015. Stayed for one month with brother and came back to Riyadh Saudi Arabia in June. I will tell details later. Now my only concern is what should I do next. Me and my wife are very double minded about moving to Canada as we are planning to move in January to Calgary. But until now we don't have any jobs. so sometimes I think I shall set my family there and try to continue Saudi Job and search for Jobs in Canada. I want to move as soon as possible because of daily changing rules and because of Kids future. Need your suggestions guys. I'll keep on posting the details as soon as I get time.
Regards
Fazal.
Hello Fazal and Saira,
My apologies for not replying sooner.
We have been busy here in Mississauga stitching our lives together once again. Its been very very tough but after almost 1 year, we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
A few words of advice for you based upon our experience:
Dont go to Calgary - Too cold and the Oil industry in recession, no jobs there.
Go to either Toronto(GTA) Mississauga, Milton, Scarborough, Brampton, or Downtown.
Dont expect to get a job in your field very easy and very soon. You wont find it written anywhere, but its a silent rule that they dont give white collar jobs to anyone without a minimun 2 year CANADIAN experience.
You will have to do labor jobs as survival jobs but your target should be to get one in a company thats in your field.
Your education is not recognized or credited here. Yes I know they say so but its not - trust me.
Prepare your wife to study and work as 1 job cannot run a household.
You staying in Saudi Arabia and leaving the family here is not a bad idea as lot of families here in Mississauga are doing exactly that. Only downside is - you will delay your citizenship process.
My husband swept floors in a company and just recently he has got promoted to a better position which is a little closer to what he had in Pakistan. But he stuck to his job, worked really hard and it took its time. Now he is getting better offers as he has CANADIAN experience.
If you wanna come and settle here, be prepared. ITS VERY VERY TOUGH!.
Good luck
