You don't have to send anything to get SIN, and don't have to wait till you get PR Card. Just take your passport and landing papers to Service Canada office near you and they will provide you with SIN number immediately. Thanks

You can find different sizes taxi as well from Edmonton Airport.Just let them know how many luggage you have and you will get the taxi accordingly . Don't worry about luggage. Fare seems quite close i.e. $ 80-90.
