I sincerely hope you and Mrs. Farney have a seamless transition into Canada. Immigrating to another country is definitely an adventure - hopefully yours will turn out to be enjoyable and rewarding.farney bhoy said:Canada will be a struggle at first but Mrs Farney and i are confident things will work out in the end. I think it will be a great experience and am hugely looking forward to emigrating next year. Where are you planning to land?
I intend to land in Toronto and have several options in my mind for settling down.
I spent three beautiful years in Montreal during my undergrad and will always have a bias for the city.
However my decision will ultimately be determined by which graduate program I choose to attend (or which one accepts me). So far the options are quite geographically spaced out, with programs in Toronto, Guelph, Ottawa, Halifax, Vancouver and ofcourse beatiful Montreal.
At this point, I need to get my PPR so that I can have calrity regarding my time horizon. Should I be able to land before the first classico (as you predicted), I would be within my application deadlines, and can thus apply for the graduate programs as a landed permanent resident of Canada, with access to student funding and loans. If I land early enough and end up going to McGill again, I may also have time to pursue Quebec selection after landing which would further reduce my academic bills as Quebec students pay the lowest tuitions in Canada (if they are studying in their own province).
Should LVO continue to delay, I may have no choice but to postpone and essentially delay an academic semester (and in many cases an academic year because alot of programs only offer admission in the fall).
After waiting for 2 years, the anxiety is just unbearable!
