Agreed, CIC started PER from July 2010 BUT CIO authorized for it from July 2011. so it reveals LVO communicate with MI2 applicants before MR for PER.

if PER is given by LVO for MI2 applicants , then 20 % rufusal after PER is strange. ::)

Engineer,

I believe we are all MiI3, so whats the relevance of discussing an MI2 case and timelines here ?

Cheers

Many countries like US, UK Canada etc have bilateral/multilateral agreements with Govt. of Pak regarding info sharing on immigration and border controls. These agreements entitle a foreign mission/embassy to have restricted/viewable access to number of our records/databases.
E.g. In case of Pakistan.... US, Canadian and all European embassies have access to search and view NADRA's main database of registration, passport and immigration control. Similarly they also have an agreement with HEC for Reg. and degree award verification records.
That facilitates them a lot while they are sitting in Islamabad embassy in or anywhere in the world. Plus in case of CHC Islamabad, they have a special desk for LND office which facilitates and answer all LVO queries where physical verification is required within Pakistan.
I know these things coz in beginning of my career I worked as a consultant for legal rights and information control in public sector for three years.
Hope it helps in getting some idea of this complicated process.

In my opinion backlog is reducing:

-Pre Feb2008 (biggest backlog) - The govt has decided to return files and reimburse fee for the cases that have not not reached SELDEC stage.

- MI-1 (Feb 2008-June 2010) second largest backlog - CIC recieved overwhelming number of approx 425,000 applications against their regular annual intake of 65000-75000 (FSW applications). This was beyond their expectations and ability to clear in one year as announced by the Minister. CIC is focussing to clear this backlog now.

- MI - 2 (June 2010-July 2011) - Occupation list reduced from 38 to 29 and max number of applications capped at 20,000, enabling them to clear these cases (within one year) as well as some backlog.

- MI-3 (July 2011 - ---) Occupation list remains same but max number of applications cap reduced from 20,000 to 10,000 enabling them to clear curent cases as well as continue clearing backlog.

To me it indicates that CIC is wants to stick to its announcement of clearing new cases in one year while seroiusly attempting to clear MI-1 backlog and qualified pre-Feb 2008 cases.

Best wishes to all..

Hello All,

I received my second GCMS notes and the only difference is under Application Assignment. It now shows assigned to DS03141 with Due Date 19 May 2012. I will be applying for the 3rd GCMS notes shortly :)

I also received a standard reply to my case specific enquiry that it is awaiting officer review, but it came from a personal email address with name.surname@international.gc.ca.
Is this normal? I have read that replies are sent from the standard/generic email address re-london-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca. Any comments?

I just want to share that the GCMS notes are a good way of keeping track of your application and I would highly recommend all LVO applicants to get one atleast to know the date when your application reached the London Visa Office.

Good luck to all my LVO mates.
