To be totally honest, I actually elluded to this early in our relationship not because I thought my husband wasn't genuine but I had a great business concept to start in his home country where we could merge both our passions together. He was pretty excited at the thought and said, Let's do it! LOL .... I then thought, oh boy, I just got him excited about me moving there .... All in all, it didn't matter where we lived as long as we could build our lives together.

But def a good point..

I don´t know a lot about immigration , my husband & I just started this whole process but I think marriage fraud might be one of the reasons immigration takes so long to process applications , I think if they see that the marriage is genuine they shouldn´t take so long to process the application .. ???

Well, the ones that the VO feels are genuine don't take long. That's why many couples get their visas from Ottawa VO (that's my office) in 7 months when the published time is 13 months.

What takes long is when they feel they need an interview. Scheduling takes a while. I think 2-3 months is average for Ottawa, longer for other offices. It can depend on the VO and also where the applicant lives.

What really takes a long time are the refusals. The VO takes care in writing it up (right or not) to make sure they have their bases covered in the event of an appeal. (They still lose most appeal cases!)

Anyway, we are totally on another topic in this thread - it's become a social hangout. You're welcome to join us! :)

I think I will be dreaming of u haul for the next 15 days :o I haven't started packing yet and my two week notice at work should have been just one as my crabby insecure supervisor is now trying to find ways to explode me and make me her slave. So!! Just for the heck of it and of course resting and getting some more sleep, I will be going in late to work tomorrow >:(

no not yet!! We have been stuck in this storm from hell!!!! We got stuck in the freezing rain last night and had to stop at a rest stop for a few hrs...(not fun with three little ones!!) then when we got back on the road in the morning there was still so much ice on the roads that we drove for almost 6 hrs and only got 120 miles.... not fun!!! Tomorrow looks much nicer for traveling so we are keeping our fingers crossed to get a good chunk behind us!
