Don't beat yourself up about it. It does happen. We always think it won't happen to us, but it can and does happen. Its hard to think the person you love is lying to you or using you, and it takes a lot to get over sometimes. They do say "love is blind" sometimes.

Just keep your chin up! You're well on your way to starting over and putting him in his place.

Stop talking to him. Get him removed from your home or if it's not a "home" to you, get out. Cut of all contact. He's going to do his best to manipulate you into taking him back and don't be surprised if he takes insane steps to also try to get you pregnant (if you're able to). People that this are desparate and lack any sympathy for you at all. They will use you until there's nothing left. Get a restraining order or move where he can't find you. No more email, texts, phone calls, period.

Make sure you have backup copies of your proof at a location he can't get to - like a friend or parent's house in another province. Don't tell him about this. Unless he finds your stash and gets rid of it. Then you can gloat.

I would call the Centre again and again until I get through, then keep an eye on ecas. You can also try to email the VO again or call them if you can.

If they move on to another stage (like requesting medicals or additional documents) I would re-send the withdraw letter certified so you have proof they got it.

But in most cases, I think it will take a little bit for you to hear anything. Work on getting your house in order and getting rid of him.

I don't know all the answers to your questions, but I do know the Call Centre is hard to get a hold of. I sometimes have to call a dozen times to get through. Also, make sure you're using an actual phone and not Skype or another computer based calling program. They don't mesh well together.

Generally, that status means they have received your file, but haven't begun to process it yet. Did you include your UDI or Client ID # with the letter?

Also, if you have any proof of separation (separation agreement, restraining order, new lease in your name only) I would provide copies to Immigration as well so they know you're serious. Hell, if it was me, I'd have a book of evidence!

You may want to post in the Spouse Sponsorship thread stickied to the top of the Family Class section of the forum or make a new thread and call out for help from senior members. It can't hurt to ask around. The more knowledge you get, the better.

I think those are those things that you try to find when you are trying to impressing someone like at a beach or "while knitting" an forget about the rest of the time! Though sounds like Halfmoon is determined to find hers!
