Thats bad that u have lost it. Check it thoroughly, I guess wait a day or two and see if u can find it, personally speaking u will have to inform them as passport expiry date for ur new passport will be different from the one u had filled while filling the forms.
Try to look 4 ur old passport.
hi BUddy, it is not lost buddy, two black men robbed my house.....in the mid afternoon in new jersey...took away 4 laptops, and to keep those laptops they took my brief case , and in that brief case were all my documents....
Little nervous, informed cops...have to see how it goes...
I am sorry to hear about what happened to you. Don't worry about the CIC process though, you are on solid ground. You will need to file a police report (which you seem to have done already). You can apply for a new passport once you have this report (which you probably already have).
I am sure what stage of the process you are in. When you say file number, do you mean AOR? If you mean PNP file number then you have to wait for the nomination anyways. If you meant AOR, when you communicate with the CIC just write a letter explaining to them what happened, send them a copy of your old passport, your new passport and a copy of your police report. You should be fine. What happened to you could have happened to anyone, and CIC will not cause any problems.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Sorry to hear but I don't understand why to keep Passport at home?? It may not be robbery it may have lost due to fire. Why not keep all jewllery and document, especially in a country where you are non - citizen, in Bank issued lockers? In last 7 years in America, I always kept PP, Jwellery in safe locker never at home.
