Hi All,

I just received the letter to appear to write the test. In the document it says to bring my current and expired passports and travel documents. I lost my old (expired) passport from my origin of country which contains the Record of Landing (VISA), but I have the certified true copy of all the pages of the lost passport initialed by Canadian immigration officer. I have all of the other supporting documents including Canadian Travel Document.
My question is that could my case be delayed because I could not present my original expired passport. I'm worried.. :(

It might be, but worrying won't help. Just explain things to the immigration agent, you wouldn't be the first successful applicant with papers gone missing.

I had a same problem , On January 22,2014 I had citizenship test and interview , I passed the test 20/20 but in interview officer told me " I am not getting you RQ but we have to get the report from CBSA because you do not have previous passport"
During the interview I gave the office copy of my employee record, T4, Tax assessment, Rent agreement and police report for stolen passport .

Try to show your evidence before he/she make a decision on your case.

And I do not know how long I have to wait ?!

The officer actually told you that "you will not be given an RQ"
Was this the actual words?
Curious

The exact word was " I am not going to give you RQ Just we have to get report from CBSA because you do not have previous passport"

NEW Update: I called CIC right now and she said that CIC received CBSA report last week Wednesday !! ((very fast about 2 weeks)) and she said you should wait for judge decision . Any body knows how long will it take ?

My family applied on 24th April and CIC has not updated the Ecas yet. After applying we are now traveling back to home country on vacation. We applied with new and old passport copies but we suddenly discovered our old passport gone missing/lost which infact covers only 1 month of last 4 years while our new passport cover period is 3 years 11 month including visa and all stamps. Old passport no is mentioned in the new passport.

As officer will be asking for old passport original and we will not have that during interview what will be the explanation? should we write a letter in advance before interview that the old passport has lost while we were traveling ? should we report to police in our home country as evidence of missing?

Please advise..
