Long delay since CIC recived application - No eCAS or Returned - Pls advise

Hello All,

I have applied with my son as family from Toronto and as per Canada Post express receipt, CIC received our applications on 28th April, 2014 singed by someone MM. As of today I am not able to see anything in eCAS. It is 80 days now since CIC received applications. Is the delay is like this normal while I find most of update within 60 days? We are in a 6 weeks vacation now and will return end of next month. I am not sure if I can call to CIC call center from overseas, but sent an e-mail to inform them.

I find almost all April applicant received their eCAS update except probably us. We have a person who is checking our mails regularly and nothing in mailbox either. Is that CIC lost our applications ? or I am not able to see due to ID search issues? I tried by Client ID, PR card No. & Payment receipt No but nothing. Please advise..

I am sorry to hear that.

You can try to call the call center (if you're overseas there's a way explained on the forum, I just can't retrieve it) or to order your online ATIP, if there's no trace in the system of your applications you'll quickly receive a letter stating so. At least you'll be sure and you'll be able to move on and send new applications.

In any case I hope everything will be fine.

Have you tried to call the CIC? There are times when they start processing applications and you do not find anything in ECAS. I have seen this before however, you should have received an acknowledgement by now.

I called CIC call center today from overseas and spoke with an agent. She could not find anything in the system and suspecting that Sydney may have returned the application. I asked her it is now over 2.5 month and does this take that long to return an incomplete application? she said they are opening now 8th May applications while your application was received on 28th April and there is a possibilities for return as they did not put in the system but she is not sure and asked me to check next week. I also requested ATIP physical file status today.

I wonder does CIC return only after when they are ready to process in system after 2 month? Don't they open envelop when they receive package and check incomplete application and return within 3-4 weeks? I am bit concerned as I only can re-apply when back to Canada next month and by then 4 month lost. What are the chances to return now after 10 weeks or CIC will eventually find my application and will process with few days? Please advise...
