we have been asked for MR in Aug. 2009 and then we had no reply after this for about a year then they told us there is a security background
and then in Dec. 2011 they asked for updates of the family then on 25 Jan. 2012 we had the second MR and it was received on 10 Feb. and PCC on 1 March
and PPR on 23

Yes it is absolutely normal, It happen to me also, all of a sudden we receive our medical request.
but one thing did you receive request for any additional forms to be filled by them like New IMM0008 Form, 5662, 5562E
please let me know.
