@darwaish & @M Imran Kh!!!!!!!!!!! Be aware VO has the right to call for interview at any stage with regard to any matter........... The process is not fixed and may depend case to case.

Sorry to say, there was an applicant who was asked to send the passport back after stamping visa. (still waiting to know the exact reason)

Dear nicholas30,

Sure, they can call at any point but they also have some limitations and constraints. If no major Discrepency, then very rare chance of a call for interview.

Thanks for your update.

Thanks.

Hi Sherin, do you think if I were to switch to new machine readable pp now, the CIC might ask for updated PPCs as the ones submitted already have my current PP No. would you tell me your experience? Did your PCCs have your old PP Number? Did you inform them as soon as you got your new passport and still they didn't ask for updated PCCs? Your reply would be of great help, tx :)
Hi Canada100, Yes, my PcCs for twice had my old passport number. CIC did not ask for any Pcc after
I renewed my passport. I sent them a photocopy of my new passport via post as soon as I got it.
Hope this helps.

9j, being an indian national i have trouble getting a machine readabl passport now. The passports issued from the Indian embassy here in Muscat are the manual handwritten ones. If I were to get the machine readable one, I will have to go back to India once to apply and then again to collect. I have just returned from my annual holidays and obvisously my work will not permit me disappear often for personal reasons. This is what is stopping me from going for the machine readable one now.
Ok. The good news is you can travel with the existing one anyway. You can always make arrangement for MRP when next you are in India. All the best mate. ;)

I don't think changing the format of your passport will change anything in terms of what you've already submitted. As long as your personal details remain the same.

9j, tx so mch for your comments. now, i need your urgent advise on this please. the chc received my meds on 30 jan, rprf encashed 16 feb and med reslts received update on my ecase on 19 april. still no ppr. so i sent a case specific enq to london chc a few days ago regarding my case. i received an answer y'day as follows:

WE ARE AWAITING RESULTS OF BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THIS APPLICATION. THE FILE WILL THEN BE DUE FOR REVIEW BY AN IMMIGRATION OFFICER. WE WILL BE IN CINTACT ONCE THIS REVIEW HAS TAKEN PLACE.

what do they mean by backgrounbd check? do they mean security and criminality checks? i understand background checks are done to verify work experience, education etc and are carried out b4 issuing medicals. do you think in my case, may be the chc sent the medical request b4 verifying my work and education? i am concerned becoz they say after receiving the results of my bg checks, the file will be due for review by immigration officer. my understanding is after the bg checks results arrive, they send the ppr. Please if you could let me have your thoughts as I am now worried and assume that nothing much has been done on my file so far.

Many tx for your time.

I think the delay must be due to security/criminality screening. They do often use the two terms BG checks and security checks interchangeably. If there were any issue with your documentations viz-a-viz education, work history etc, you would have been contacted before MR. Fingers crossed, you should get your PPR in short while.

My best wishes.

I know how you feel. Barring any major criminal history, the rest is a formality at this stage. I agree the wait is always very difficult to bear, but it makes it all the more a happier ending when you get your visa. Hang in there buddy, you are nearly there :) :-*

Hi Canada100,
I do agree with 9j and Sherin. It's nothing to do with your points (Your passed 67 points) and that is why you got MR. Obviously you passed Med too for LVO to have updated that on ecas. Some say delays in security/criminality may be due to you or/and your family members travel history, and also the number of countries lived or visited since 18yrs. But whatever it is, I dnt think it should get to June before you'll receive PPR. Best wishes
